The two sides of the strait had reached an agreement, and before Lai Qingde came to power, the Kuomintang broke with the convention, and PLA fighters took off

On 26 April, Fu Laiqing, the new chief convener of the Chinese Kuomintang's "People's Representative Organization," led a delegation to visit the mainland and met with high-level officials on the mainland on 27 April. The reason for the concern of public opinion on the island is mainly due to two points: First, the scale of Fu Laiqing's visit to the mainland is very large, so how big is it? It has been learned that Fu Laiqing's delegation to the mainland this time includes 17 KMT "people's representatives," including Wang Hongwei, Chen Yuzhen, and Zheng Tiancai, while the total number of KMT "people's representatives" in 2024 will only be 52, which means that the number of people in the delegation this time accounts for one-third of the total number of KMT "people's representatives"; second, the time of Fu Laiqing's visit to the mainland is very "special" This is mainly manifested in two places: First, when Fu Lai-ying led a delegation to visit the mainland, while the Taiwan legislature was still in session, in the words of public opinion on the island, the Kuomintang broke the "convention" and that as the chief convener of the Kuomintang's "democratic representative body," it "did not conform to the rules" when the Taiwan legislature was in session. Second, the time of Fu Laiqing's visit to the mainland comes immediately after the visit of former Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou to the mainland, and the difference between the two is only half a month.

Prior to this, Ma Ying-jeou stayed on the mainland for a total of 11 days during his visit to the mainland, during which the mainland side gave Ma Ying-jeou the highest courtesy, and at the same time, the mainland also emphasized three clear standpoints: First, there is no knot between the two sides of the strait that cannot be unbroken; second, there is no problem between the two sides of the strait that cannot be resolved through discussions; and third, no force can separate the two sides of the strait, and the distance between the two sides of the strait cannot block the historical truth that both sides of the strait belong to the Chinese nation. Ma Ying-jeou's response is also worthy of affirmation, and he stressed as soon as he returned to Taiwan: The two sides of the strait should adhere to the "consensus of '92" and oppose "Taiwan independence," seek common ground while reserving differences, put aside disputes, create a win-win situation, and jointly pursue peaceful development. It should be said that this is also a consensus between the two sides of the strait, and judging from Ma Ying-jeou's statement, it seems that the two sides of the strait have reached an agreement. As for Ma Ying-jeou's visit to the mainland, Fu Laiqing's previous response was that he believed that the DPP's actions had led to the deterioration of cross-strait tensions, and any action that tried to promote cross-strait peace should be recognized. In other words, he affirmed Ma Ying-jeou's visit to the mainland. In addition, he stressed that the roots of the Taiwan people belong to the Chinese nation, and this is a truth that brooks no delay. It can be seen from this that Fu Laiqing's current visit to the mainland will certainly not be too bad for talks with the mainland.

Perhaps it is precisely because of this that Fu Laiqing's visit to the mainland led by Fu Lai-hing-te, the new leader of the Taiwan region, before he took office, has aroused a high degree of concern from public opinion on the island. In addition, Huang Guochang, the "chief caller of the People's Caucus" of the People's Party, said that Fu Laiying's visit to the mainland is a matter of the KMT's own domestic affairs, but from the standpoint of the Taiwan region, although promoting cross-strait exchanges is a good thing, maintaining Taiwan's "dignity and reciprocity" is the "consensus" of all the people.

It can be said that the trend of the Kuomintang on the island has changed, especially when Lai Qingde's personnel arrangements for his "gang team" are almost all "American" and "Taiwan independence," and between the DPP and the mainland, the KMT has chosen to take the lead in embracing the mainland. On 27 July, PLA fighters took off again and arrived near Taiwan Island; according to a report by Taiwan's defense department, on the morning of the same day, the Taiwan military successively detected 22 sorties of PLA Su-30, Air Police-500, unmanned aerial vehicles, and other main and auxiliary fighters entering the Taiwan Strait. Among them, 12 sorties arrived near Taiwan Island from the northern and central parts of the strait. Obviously, this has shown that the PLA's tactics against Taiwan are very clear, that is, to create an all-round advance to deter and suppress the DPP authorities and the "Taiwan independence" forces on the island.
