In the decoration construction, although each project is particularly important, but if you want to say that the most problematic project, then it must be the tile laying project. There are two main reasons, one is the paving effect of ceramic tiles, which is directly related to the overall effect, so everyone will pay special attention to this piece when decorating. The other is whether there is a problem with the tile paving, even if it is a layman, it can be judged by the appearance.
So no matter how good the worker's craftsmanship is, as long as there is a little bit of a small detail, it is easy to see. Therefore, this project is also the most prone to rip-offs. For example, the owner of the following was also in a little dispute with the workers during the masonry stage during the renovation process, and even asked the workers to stop work.
The reason is simple, that is, through the floor tiles of a room laid by the workers, the owner has a lot of doubts about his craftsmanship. In the words of the owner, although he is not a professional and does not know how to lay floor tiles, but through the homes of friends around him and the decoration sites he has seen, he has not found that the thickness of the floor tiles in any house is thicker than that of his own home.
The owner also said that although he did not know the reason why the workers had laid the floor tiles so thickly, he was sure of two problems. First, it has an impact on the height of the whole room, or because the floor tiles are too thick, the floor height of the room is reduced twice. Second, the cost of auxiliary materials used by workers will definitely be very high, even if workers have not yet asked for supplementary materials.
So whatever the reason, the workers are definitely going to stop working. Otherwise, not to mention wasting a little more construction cost, the problem of reducing the floor height will be serious. After all, the floor height of commercial housing is very limited, and it cannot be decorated to cause a sense of depression in the later life. At the same time, through further measurements, the owner also confirmed that the floor tile paving was problematic. As you can see from the picture below, including the thickness of the floor tiles themselves, the overall thickness is about 10 cm, which looks very thick.
Of course, at the request of the owner, the workers also stopped work in time. However, the worker also has his own explanation for the thickness of the floor tiles, and believes that the owner does not understand construction at all.
According to the worker, the thickness of the floor tiles is not only determined by his paving, but also according to the owner's own requirements and the situation on site.
For example, in the case that the owner paves the floor tiles in the whole house, the first thing to ensure is that the floor tiles of the whole house must be on a horizontal plane, and there can be no difference between rooms and rooms. Otherwise, it's too ugly. In order to ensure that all the floor tiles are laid on a horizontal plane, then before paving, all the ground should be leveled and measured.
To put it simply, it is necessary to find out the difference between the lowest point and the highest point of the ground, and then select the paving thickness of the floor tiles according to the height difference, that is, in the process of paving the floor tiles, the thickness of the cement layer is used for leveling.
It just so happens that the ground flatness error of the owner's house is relatively large, so in this case, the paving thickness of the floor tiles naturally increases. Moreover, due to the increase in the thickness of the cement layer, the amount of the whole project has also increased a lot. Therefore, on this issue, the owner has to pay him a little more construction costs. Otherwise, he wouldn't have continued construction.
Of course, after hearing the worker's explanation, the owner was quite surprised. Because he did not expect that in the case of pointing out the construction problem, the workers not only attributed the problem to the construction site, but also demanded an increase in the construction cost. So he said on the spot that before the problem was clarified, the floor tiles must not be paved.
In fact, my opinion is the same as that of the workers, and it is indeed caused by the overall flatness of the ground. After all, the whole house is paved with floor tiles, and the ground flatness error will definitely be very large, and the workers' request for additional money is also reasonable. After all, laying the floor tiles so thick is equivalent to making an extra leveling treatment for the floor tiles.
