At 14:45 on April 24, a fire broke out in the "Jiangnan Banquet" hotel across the wall from the PetroChina (Lianlong) gas station. Videos taken by nearby residents show a man standing on the fence to rescue him, and someone handing a fire extinguisher to the man standing on the fence from the side of the gas station. At the same time, the gas station staff was directing the tanker truck to reverse and drive away from the unloading area. Soon after, fire rescue vehicles arrived at the scene.

On April 28, the reporter rushed to the scene to verify and found that the gas station and the hotel were only separated by a wall, and under the wall was the tank farm and unloading port of the gas station. On the side of the hotel, the iron structure next to the fence has traces of blackened smoke and fire.

Reason: The fire was caused by careless operation during construction
At the front desk of the "Jiangnan Banquet" hotel, several staff members unanimously denied that the hotel had caught fire on the 24th, and said that the video content on the Internet was untrue.
The hotel staff said that on the day of the incident, at the fence near the gas station, a spark accidentally ignited the flammable material during the welding construction, and smoke came out. Due to the timely control, there were no serious consequences. As for the restaurant kitchen, it is set up in the farthest location from the gas station.
At the mention of this, the gas station staff still has lingering palpitations. On the afternoon of the 24th, the "Jiangnan Banquet" restaurant next to the fence emitted smoke and flames due to construction work, and at the same time, a tanker truck loaded with 16 tons of gasoline was preparing to start preparations before unloading oil in the designated area.

After discovering the situation, the gas station immediately activated the emergency plan, quickly organized personnel to evacuate the tanker, cut off the power supply, evacuate the vehicles at the scene, and dialed the 119 fire alarm number.
Due to the high location of the fire, the hotel construction personnel used water pipes to extinguish the fire to no avail, and the fire showed signs of expansion. Five minutes later, rescuers from the Tianyuan District Fire Brigade arrived at the scene.

In the "Technical Standards for Automobile Refueling, Gas and Hydrogen Refueling Stations", there are clear requirements for the safety distance between gasoline and diesel process equipment and station buildings (structures) of gas stations and various joint stations: when the wall of the first and second class fire-resistant civil buildings facing the side of the gas station is a solid wall without doors and windows, the distance between the oil tank, the fuel dispenser and the snorkel gate and the civil building shall not be less than 6 meters.
