According to the website of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, the Student Affairs Department (Office) of Lanzhou Jiaotong University issued a notice on April 25 on the management of student safety education during the 2024 Labor Day holiday, stating that the school opposes students to organize car rentals, group tours or bicycle trips. Students are reminded not to take illegal passenger vehicles, and it is strictly forbidden to go out without permission or in groups.
On April 25, the School of Foreign Chinese Languages of Jiangsu Normal University also issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Student Safety Education during the May Day Holiday", strictly prohibiting any class from organizing students to travel in the name of a collective during the holiday, and resolutely stopping the behavior of soliciting and organizing students to travel in the name of associations or individuals. It is strictly forbidden for students to contact individuals or private vehicles to charter a bus to return home or travel.
On April 26, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Chengdu University of Technology issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Safety Work of Students" May Day Holiday ", proposing that no one shall organize students to go out for sightseeing and tourism (including various forms of self-guided tours) in the name of the collective for any reason.
Jiangsu Engineering Vocational and Technical College also issued a notice on April 24 saying that all students are not allowed to organize chartered buses and tourism activities in any form. Colleges and classes do not organize any form of group outings, outings and other activities, and students who travel individually should also be carried out under the condition of ensuring their own safety and be responsible for their own safety.
On April 23, the School of Public Administration of Central South University required in the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Student Safety during the 2024 Labor Day Holiday" that in principle, all classes shall not organize student collective activities in other places, and students are not encouraged to go to other places to play collectively.
Although some colleges and universities do not prohibit group tours organized by students, they strictly restrict the return to campus on the same day. Xi'an University of Science and Technology's "Several Regulations on Student Travel (Trial)" stipulates that the group travel activities organized by students shall not be less than five people, and must be declared to the college, and can only be carried out after approval, and the organizer is responsible for safety work. Counselors and college leaders should be approved according to the conditions of proximity, simplicity, safety and risk-free. All travelers must abide by the rules that they are not allowed to stay overnight, return to school before 10 p.m. on the same day, and bear their own responsibility.
The "Regulations on Regulating the Organization of Outing Activities by Student Cadres" issued by the School of Information Science and Engineering of Shandong University in March 2019 also made specific provisions for students' temporary group tours: in the name of the collective (including in the name of grades, classes, dormitories, temporary groups, and various grass-roots departments of college-level student institutions) to organize students to go out for internships, travel, and activities, including organizing such activities during holidays, must apply to the relevant counselors or teachers in charge in advance, and the activity plan must be reported for review in advance. Temporary groups initiated by ordinary students shall also be handled in accordance with these provisions. For the above-mentioned group activities, except for the special approval of the college leaders, the team must be led by the teacher, and if there is no teacher to lead the group, the group must be organized through a qualified travel company designated by the college, and the group must have a written agreement, and the agreement must be approved by the teacher.
The reporter noticed that at present, some colleges and universities strictly restrict students from traveling in groups on their own, and some colleges and universities advocate that students go out in groups and do not travel alone. The School of Optoelectronics of Beijing Institute of Technology also reminded on April 25 that students on long-distance journeys should try to travel in groups, and it is recommended not to go out alone or with unfamiliar people.
Zhumadian Vocational and Technical College in Henan Province has required on April 23 that students must inform their relatives when they go out, stay abroad and travel, and they must go out together when they travel, and they must not travel alone or meet unfamiliar netizens. The "May Day Holiday Safety Tips" made by Anhui Polytechnic University said that traveling should not be done alone. Chongqing University of Technology issued a notice on April 24 to guide education students to travel together when they go out.
In addition, other colleges and universities advocate that students will be active on campus during the May Day holiday.
