The heavy-duty truck plant in Mexico will further complement Volvo's heavy-duty truck production in the U.S. and better support Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks' growth plans in the U.S. and Canadian markets, as well as Mack Trucks sales in Mexico and Latin America. The plant is expected to start operations in 2026.

The New River Valley plant is completing a $400 million expansion to accommodate the new Volvo VNL models. Volvo Group's heavy-duty truck plant in Mexico will cover an area of approximately 158 square meters and will be a complete assembly plant for traditional heavy-duty trucks, including body production and painting.
