Biden had bad intentions, and in less than 48 hours, the Department of Defense set the tone for the United States, and the rhetoric was unprecedentedly fierce

author:Professor Cao Xing

In less than 48 hours, the mainland defense department set the tone for the U.S. behavior and eight warnings to the U.S. side.

The Department of Defense sets the tone for American behavior

A few days ago, Senior Colonel Wu Qian, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, responded to some questions about the inappropriate remarks and policies of the United States on Taiwan.

If the United States really wants to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, it should immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs, stop arming Taiwan, and stop all official exchanges and military ties between the United States and Taiwan.

In a word, Senior Colonel Wu Qian explained that the fundamental cause of the Taiwan issue is that the United States is constantly stirring up trouble in it. Now that the United States is still accusing China of making tensions in Taiwan, it is worth looking at what it has done.

At the same time, Senior Colonel Wu Qian also expressed China's firm stand on the erroneous behavior of the United States and resolutely opposes any attempt to use military cooperation to meddle in the Taiwan issue.

Taiwan is China's Taiwan, and the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair, and the United States' actions have interfered in China's internal affairs, violated the one-China principle and the basic norms governing international relations, and jeopardized peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The People's Liberation Army (PLA) will not sit idly by, let it go unchecked, connive at and support "Taiwan independence" by external forces, and will not be soft-hearted.

At the same time, with regard to US military aid to Taiwan, Wu Qian said that Taiwan is the first red line in Sino-US relations that cannot be crossed, and conniving at and supporting "Taiwan independence" will inevitably lead to burn oneself and reap the bitter consequences.

"Burn yourself on fire, eat the bitter consequences" is China's warning of the consequences of the United States, and the rhetoric is fierce. Previously, US arms manufacturers that sold arms to Taiwan were sanctioned by China, and more reciprocal countermeasures may be on the way.

The United States passes the Foreign Aid Act

Recently, the United States has frequently "played its cards" on the Taiwan issue.

Two days ago, the U.S. Senate passed a $95 billion foreign aid bill, which will take effect as long as Biden signs it.

Indo-Pacific partners, including Taiwan, provide about $8 billion in the bill, and Taiwan receives $2 billion in defense goods and services.

The bill has already been passed by the Senate and House of Representatives, and it is only a matter of time before Biden signs it.

Moreover, recently, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has made undegrading remarks, claiming that the United States will "take all measures to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait" and ensure that "something happens to Taiwan" will never happen, and will continue to provide Taiwan with means of self-defense.

Another US congressman clamored that the "Aukus" submarine agreement between the United States, Britain and Australia will promote peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The US remarks have nakedly demonstrated the bad intentions of the United States to interfere in the Taiwan Strait issue, although the United States has repeatedly assured Chinese mainland that it will not support "Taiwan independence" and abide by the "one-China principle."

However, in action, the United States is emboldening the "Taiwan independence" forces and sending a wrong signal to the latter.

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, as the ruling party in the Taiwan region, "only have the interests of the United States, not those of Taiwan" during the Tsai Ing-wen period, and the incoming Lai Ching-te has inherited Tsai's ideas in its entirety.

Military aid is not as simple as the Taiwan authorities think

However, Lai Qingde should not be happy too early.

Not to mention that US military aid is not military aid at all, and Taiwan needs to spend money to buy it, and this is just a "blank check" issued by the US side to Taiwan.

According to the data, 19 arms sales in Taiwan will not be delivered until after 2027, with a total amount of up to $22 billion, and the delay in the delivery of US arms sales to foreign countries is very serious.

The so-called "security commitments" of the United States are obviously not sincere, and at present the United States is mainly busy diverting domestic contradictions and consolidating its hegemonic position.

Some voices have even broken the news that the "arms sales to Taiwan" are nothing but a move by the United States to "wash the arms," and the weapons it "gives" are all expired.

It is no secret that the United States, Britain and other NATO countries have eliminated obsolete weapons in the name of military aid and given their own national military industry money to produce new weapons.

Once the war really starts, all these shells need to be purchased from the United States, and 2 billion dollars will not be spent on arms at all.

Therefore, it can be said that there is a chain of interests behind the US appropriation to "play the Taiwan card" and a set of "business experience" of the US military-industrial interest group.

Externally, the United States can put pressure on China to force China to make concessions in China-US economic and trade fields, but internally, the United States can increase its chances of winning the election, which is a political necessity.

Therefore, the DPP is happy in vain, and the so-called "military aid" of the United States is all based on self-interest as the starting point and the end goal, and is aimed at maintaining the US hegemony in the region, which will pose new threats to international and regional security, push up geopolitical risks, and will not benefit the Taiwan region.

In short, whether the DPP wants to stop one-party selfish interests from "relying on the United States to seek independence" and "seeking independence by force," or the United States "arming Taiwan" and sending a wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces, Chinese mainland will not sit idly by and will certainly make it pay a heavy price.
