On December 14, 2010, the Burn Department of Xinghua People's Hospital in Jiangsu Province received 7 special patients at once. They were all only about 5 or 6 years old, and they were all burned in different areas and places of the maxillofacial area (diagnosed by the hospital as second-degree burns), and they were all from the same kindergarten and the same class.
The children went to kindergarten happily in the morning, but when they came back, they had burns on their faces? This not only made the parents feel angry but also had a great impact on the local area.
1. The scars on the child's face
On December 14, 2010, Xiaowen's mother braved the drizzle and picked up her son from school on time as usual. When the door of this Banqiao kindergarten opened, Xiaowen's mother squeezed to the door of the kindergarten classroom with the bustling flow of people and found her son Xiaowen.
Because he was in a hurry to go home to cook for his son, Xiaowen put on a hat because of the rain. When Xiaowen's mother led him out of the kindergarten, she didn't notice the child's abnormality.
Until on the way home, she talked to her son who was sitting in the back seat of the electric car many times, but she felt that Xiaowen was sullen and unhappy, which was very different from her usual liveliness, so she looked back at him, and was horrified to find that there was a large piece of skin on her son's face, and even the flesh on his face could be seen directly!
Xiaowen's mother was so anxious that tears flowed out of her eyes, she hurriedly stopped, hugged her son and asked anxiously: Xiaowen, what's wrong with your face?
Faced with his mother's anxious inquiry, Xiaowen didn't speak, just shook his head. Seeing that her son refused to speak, Xiaowen's mother had to quickly turn the car around and take her son back to the kindergarten, wanting to ask the teacher about the situation.
In fact, it stands to reason that if something special happens to a child in kindergarten, such as not eating, wetting pants, etc., the teacher will give feedback to the parents, not to mention that the face is injured!
But when picking up Xiaowen, perhaps because she was too busy, the teacher didn't explain anything to her, and the more Xiaowen's mother thought about it, the more anxious she became, she drove an electric car and soon returned to kindergarten.

Second, Xiaowen is not alone

At this point, Xiaowen's mother no longer had any doubts in her heart, only anger, she called her husband back, and hurried to the kindergarten with Xiaowen to ask the principal for an explanation. And when they were on the road, they called 110 to call the police.
After arriving at the kindergarten, the couple was surprised to find that there was more than one injured child like Xiaowen, but they were all in their class, and several parents had taken their children to the kindergarten to find teachers.
However, the principal couldn't answer the parents' questions, and pushed the matter to the teacher, saying that she didn't know the specific situation, and she still had to ask the teacher Yi for questioning.
After a while, two policemen also rushed to the police station, they had a preliminary understanding of the situation at the scene, and then put forward a very pertinent opinion, asking parents to take their children to the hospital for examination first.
So this is what I said at the beginning of this article, within one day, 7 children in the same kindergarten and the same class were diagnosed with second-degree burns in the burn department of the Municipal People's Hospital.
At the hospital, doctors carefully debrided the children and applied ointments, but this is not the end, it will take some time to recover from second-degree burns, and more importantly, it is necessary to prevent infection, and if the recovery is not good, it may also leave scars.
The face is undoubtedly the easiest place to make a first impression on others, not to mention the pain of children, once they leave a scar, I am afraid that it will be a devastating blow to their lives.
Who and under what circumstances could it cause so many children to burn at the same time, is it really the teacher in the class who burned it himself?
After the incident was exposed, reporters soon went to the homes of several children for interviews, and under their questioning, the truth was gradually revealed.
3. "I thought the iron wasn't that hot"
The 7 children who were burned had all the wounds on their faces, some on the left, some on the right, and some even in several places, and they actually remembered who burned them very clearly - it was Teacher Yi.
When the reporter interviewed one of the children, Jiujiu (pseudonym), a week had passed since the incident, but the wound on his lower lip was still very obvious.
The reporter kindly asked at that time: Who burned you, do you remember? Jiujiu fiddled with the toy in his hand, did not hesitate, and replied: It is Teacher Yi.
The answers of the other children were exactly the same. The reporter looked at them and felt very sore in his heart, and couldn't help asking: But does it hurt on the face?
The reporter didn't understand how Mr. Yi could do such a thing. So she was interviewed as well.
In an interview, the teacher Yi also regretted it very much, she kept saying: I didn't think it would be very hot, I just wanted to scare the children.
What did she use to burn the children? The reporter saw the thing at the police station -- a small iron with a power of 12W.
According to Ms. Yi, the iron was her own, and her colleague asked her to borrow it and gave it back to her before class. So she went straight into the classroom with the iron.
As for why it was used to burn the faces of these 7 children, I believe everyone can guess, as Jiujiu and Xiaowen and other children said: "The teacher burned me disobediently" and "because I spoke".
So is this 12W iron really as Mr. Yi said, after using it and unplugging it, it is "not so hot"?
In order to verify, the reporter specially used evidence to do an experiment, he turned on the iron for 15 minutes, unplugged it, and then touched the iron board with his hand, but the temperature was so high that it could not be touched at all.
Although Mr. Yi got the iron and used it to burn the children's faces after a while, the temperature of the iron at that time can be imagined.

Fourth, he has been teaching for ten years but has no kindergarten teacher qualification certificate
The exposure of this incident has aroused everyone's attention to kindergarten teachers, how are our children doing in kindergarten?
For this point, the reporter also learned about Mr. Yi's experience in detail. She graduated from a college in 2000 with a major in early childhood education, and then applied for a job in this private kindergarten, and it has been ten years since the incident.
It is said that Mr. Yi is a professional counterpart to this job, but there is one detail that makes the reporter very strange, Mr. Yi, who has been working for ten years and is experienced, has not obtained the kindergarten teacher qualification certificate at all!
Is it possible to take up a post without a qualification certificate? With such a question in mind, this reporter interviewed officials of the local education bureau and received a detailed answer.
It turns out that logically speaking, kindergarten teachers do need qualifications to work, but in practice, it is difficult to achieve - because the social demand for kindergarten teachers is far greater than the training of normal schools.

When the spoons were handed out at lunch, the teacher did not hand them out one by one, but threw the spoons on the table at random and let the children "grab" them, and one of the spoons fell on the ground and was still handed out by the teacher to the children to use.
When the children finished eating, the teacher started to sweep the table with a broom that swept the floor. This kind of behavior made the reporter realize that maybe the problem is not only Teacher Yi, but the management of this kindergarten, or the lack of a sense of responsibility for the entire group.
5. Punishment and Injury
Due to the great influence of this "child scalding incident" in local public opinion, the municipal government held a press conference for this purpose.
At the meeting, the public security department announced the punishment of Mr. Yi: according to the "Public Security Administration Punishment Law of the People's Republic of China", Yi's behavior constituted the crime of intentional harm to children, and he was sentenced to ten days of administrative detention and a fine of 500 yuan. At the same time, Banqiao Kindergarten dismissed Yi and publicly apologized to 7 families.
But are these punishments really enough to make up for the injuries suffered by these seven families? Taking Xiaowen's family as an example, his parents originally relied on a motorcycle repair shop to make a living, and after Xiaowen was injured, in order to let him receive better treatment and avoid leaving a scar on his face and leaving a shadow for a lifetime, the couple took Xiaowen back and forth to Shanghai for treatment many times, and the motorcycle repair shop was almost unable to maintain it.
It is no wonder that when some parents were interviewed, they did not shy away from saying that they would not forgive Yi for what they did, and felt that the punishment for her was too light, and he should at least be investigated for criminal responsibility.
Of course, we must believe that in the face of the pressure of public opinion, the relevant departments must have dealt with Yi in accordance with laws and regulations, and will not bend the law. But behind this incident, there is more to ponder.
As the information revealed by the children in the interview, that Teacher Yi is usually very fierce and easily loses her temper, and the children have hardly seen her laugh, and she has also beaten the children with a ruler because of their speech, naughty, and a ruler.
However, maybe they don't understand the situation, or maybe the parents don't want to "offend" the teacher because of some trivial things, in short, before the scalding incident, Teacher Yi was not questioned for these behaviors, or even reminded. In fact, it is understandable for teachers to criticize students, and even we should support teachers who have the right to discipline students, but the behavior of disciplining students should not become "something that cannot be known by parents". Disciplining a student with violence may be quick and effective, but it is slow to recover from the damage done.
Although this is a profession, the significance of this profession is too important to be completely reduced to a position to make a living.
