In April 1945, two weeks before germany's defeat, the Nazi gendarmerie chased the deserter Willie Herold, and the crowd chased and played with their guns, as if they were chasing the prey waiting to die, and did not kill him at the first time, the deserters desperately fled, and the rear was ready to give him a fatal blow, but Willy ran into the woods, and the drunken Captain Juncker hurriedly got out of the car to aim and shoot, but let him run, relying on the cover of the tree hole nearby, Willy was afraid not to die.
At the end of the war, the fanatical German soldiers began to become numb, no longer looking for the leader, perhaps knowing that the defeat was decided, more and more deserters began to appear on the front line, they turned their backs on glory and chose to survive, and the Ministry of National Defense sent gendarmes to recruit and deal with these deserters who had become social moths.
On the way to escape, Willie encounters a deserter as a companion, and hunger forces them to go to a nearby farmhouse to steal food, not wanting to disturb the livestock, waking up the guards, and the companions do not go down and do not smash the guards to death, so that many people assassinate him. Willie hurriedly turned and jumped out of the farmhouse and fled into the wilderness.
Wrapped in a tattered blanket, Willie had spent the night running along the railroad in the cold wind, and on the path near the woods, seeing a discarded military car with a captain's uniform in a suitcase in the back seat, Willie hurriedly put on the warmth, ate a few apples, and thanked God for his gift.
Suddenly, a veteran who claimed to have been scattered by the Allies and lost contact with the large army Walter, he went forward to salute Willie, took the initiative to help start the car, the young Willy saw the panicked look of the veteran, suddenly understood the value of this dress, and simply performed. He exchanged an apple for a loyal follower, and when he was not ready to throw away his worn-out paratrooper uniform, he decided to become a captain from this moment on.
In the evening, the two drove to the tavern of the town, and Willie confidently walked in to perform the Fuehrer's salute, but no one responded, because the Empire's dream was shattered, and the Fuehrer was unpopular with the people. Willie did not laugh angrily, went to the empty table and sat down, took out the pamphlet and asked the shopkeeper's name directly, which had a deterrent effect, and he went on to say that the Fuehrer would pay for the robbery of deserters, and that he had come to collect the losses of the people and go to work to be compensated, which caused everyone to rush over and lie about the losses.
Willy wasted no time in asking for food and ordered Walter to go to the kitchen to help, and although his performance was good, the owner saw the flaws. That night, the shopkeeper grabbed a deserter and asked Willie to dispose of it, and in order not to expose his identity, Willie shot the deserter in front of everyone, knowing that in order to survive, he must continue to act hard.
Walter then drives Willie to the farmer he stole before, encounters a pair of deserters and the dead companion, and now that his identity has changed, Willie needs to take control of the situation as soon as possible. The leading deserter, Kimpinski, seeing that Willie's trousers were too long, knew that he was a fake, but saw that he had a Nazi officer's temperament, and did not debunk, but chose to lead the team to join his squad, because it was a good way to survive.
Several men emptied the farmhouse, and two more artillerymen joined the way, marching to Camp Two in the name of Task Force Willie. Running out of gasoline, Willy orders his men to pull the cart forward, Kibbinski is overwhelmed, armed and ready to rebel, and just as the two sides are confronted, the gendarmerie appears and checks the documents to confirm whether they are deserters. Willie's soldiers could not fake their credentials, and in a critical situation, he stressed that he was a special operation and was on the orders of the Fuehrer himself, which frightened the captain of the other side, no longer checking his documents, and his men also chose to willingly follow the acting master to continue to mix, and rubbed the car to the camp.
There was another major crisis at the camp gate, and Willie met Captain Junker, who had been chasing him in the woods two days earlier, and he tried to restrain his fears until the appearance of Captain Shutter of the Stormtroopers gave him a way to deal with it. The camp was part of the Wehrmacht and was now overcrowded with deserters, and Schutter was troubled by this and desperately wanted someone from above to solve the problem once and for all, and the man he thought was right in front of him.
Willie put on an official posture, with an indirect authorization, to ensure the safety of his squad, he proposed to authorize Schutter to directly solve the deserters without going through the court trial, Xu Te will not question this authorization at all, they want this fanaticism, but also the most in line with the Fuehrer's style of handling affairs, began to kill the captured deserters.
Kimpinski was the first to respond, killing a deserter in front of Willie and forcing the remainder to hand over what little possessions they had. Hansen, the camp's justice department officer, learned of the incident and felt his power was being challenged, and he lodged a serious protest with Schutter to verify Willie's authorization with his superiors. Just when Willie felt that he had miscalculated, Schutter took the initiative to say his relationship in the army, and after personally contacting the top level to explain the reason, Willie successfully obtained the authorization and bypassed the Ministry of Justice, because at this time no one cared about the life and death of the deserters, and the name was to simplify the military court procedure.
Thus, a great purge of deserters began, with Willie presiding over and Schutter executing, and deserters being shot in a group of 45 in a propulsion pit, and even using anti-aircraft artillery to improve efficiency. Willie solves the camp's big problems in a cold-blooded and determined manner, wins the respect of the STORMC, and celebrates with a cocktail party that night, even if Willy says that he is an officer in disguise, no one believes it, because they have already boarded the same boat.
Willy, in order to teach the disobedient Kibbinski a lesson, shot him in the ear as a punishment, then tied four deserters together to let them escape, shot one in the back himself, and let the other two deserters shoot, one of whom chose to get on the ship and the other chose to commit suicide, so that Willie once again established his prestige.
The next day, Willie's passionate speech ordered Schutter to lead the STORMtroopers to dispose of the town's fugitive deserters, let them enjoy the carnival of slaughter, did not want allied planes to come and blow up the camp to the ground, Willie's contingent survived, Willie rearranged his uniform, and pulled people into a temporary execution court to enter the city to enforce the law.
First the mayor who surrendered to the Allies was shot, and then led his men to indulge in revelry, willy, who had become a demon, executed Kibinsky, who had robbed him of women, and the gendarmerie arrived to arrest Willy who was trying to destroy the soldier's card.
In the court-martial, the Justice Department listed Willie's crimes, willy voluntarily confessed guilt, and to his surprise, the military was exonerating him, on the grounds that in extraordinary times, the Empire needed such talents. Captain Juncker, who was a witness, also praised Willie as a rare talent, saying that the Empire had been defeated, but they could not give up and continue the armed struggle after the Allied occupation of Germany.
Willie was once again so desperate to survive that he immediately forgot all his crimes and turned to swear allegiance to the Nazi military, but the next day he fled the building with his sheets and continued his escape, crossing the bone-stained woods and heading into the darkness.
On 23 May 1945, Willie was captured by the Royal Navy in Wilhelmshaven, and during interrogation, his confession was inconsistent, but he was eventually convicted, and on November 16, 1946, he was executed with six accomplices at the age of 21.
