The second company application workshop of Jining Depot stationed here is responsible for the important task of China-Europe train maintenance and technical inspection. Every year in March and April, employees are always ready to face the test of sandstorms.
Compared with ordinary freight trains, the inspection operation of China-Europe freight trains follows stricter standards. During the operation, the inspectors need to repeatedly squat, get up, watch, tap, listen, and control every key part of the vehicle.
Strong winds swept up yellow sand and covered the entire work site, making it extremely difficult to inspect vehicles on lines with visibility of less than 50 meters.
Today, the wind and sand are strong, and after the vehicle anti-slip setting is done, be sure to check and confirm it repeatedly.

The inspection work of a train requires two groups of four operators to carry out from the beginning and end of the train. There are more than 50 vehicles in a China-Europe train, with a total length of more than 1,000 kilometers, which requires employees to carefully inspect every component while implementing standard operating procedures. In the work yard where the sand and rocks are flying, the sound of clanging inspection hammers comes and goes.
Wherever the tip of the hammer hits, Zhang Lei always silently recites the name of the accessories in his heart. He has been dealing with this kind of weather for nearly 10 years, and in his opinion, the inspection work in bad weather can better reflect the importance of the job responsibilities of the inspector. There are a large number of vehicle parts, large and small parts are distributed in various locations, and the slightest carelessness may miss a few places, and the overall performance of the vehicle cannot be guaranteed.
After more than an hour of operation, the team successfully completed the inspection task of the train. Back in the waiting room, everyone's bright yellow overalls were covered with a layer of loess, and their mouths and noses were full of fine sand.
