At the Beijing Motor Show, the new all-electric G80 made its world debut, and Genesis officially launched the Magma high-performance program in China, accelerating the development of the emerging luxury automaker.
Genesis' new all-electric G80 is dressed in the exclusive "Vision Blue" color tailored for Chinese consumers, showing a change in the brand's business thinking. The all-electric G80 Magma Concept, the X Gran Berlinetta Concept, and the GV60 Magma Concept represent Genesis' thinking in the high-performance car segment. In addition, Genesis introduced its first coupe SUV, the Genesis GV80 coupe, and the new GV80.
The new Genesis G80
The new all-electric G80's two-tone "Vision Blue" exclusive color is derived from the meaning of "blue out of blue" in Chinese culture, and the vehicle adopts the brand's iconic "Emblem of Bravery" wide grille and "Diamond of the Best" rhombic matrix, and the headlights with micro-lens array technology are vivid. The wheelbase has been lengthened by 130 mm, and the upgraded charging port cover can be opened and closed electronically.
The new all-electric G80 has more space in the rear and adds a variety of new features, including Ergo Motion massage seats in the rear and an integrated memory function. Quilting has also been added to the rear doors of the new car. Other important comfort features include a 27-inch OLED display and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Genesis Magma high-performance concept
Genesis debuted the all-electric G80 Magma concept car in the "Extreme Flame Blue" color exclusive to China. The other two Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept and the GV60 Magma Concept also represent Genesis' understanding of performance cars, with many interesting details.
Following the GV60 Magma Concept, the Genesis G80 Magma Concept is the second all-electric model in the Magma program. The redesigned front grille, widened fenders and newly designed rear bumper visually striking are impressive. The wide body, low center of gravity, large wheels and integrated fog lamps on the rear bumper have a sporty look.
The all-electric G80 Magma Concept focuses on aerodynamics, enhancing the car's performance with a suspension system, high-performance wheels and large ventilated brake discs at the front and rear. The interior is upholstered in Alcantara suede, while the seats are complemented by quilted stitching and the carbon fibre trim is decorated with a blue cross-pattern for a distinctly personal colour.
The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept debuted at the Genesis Mansion in New York in March, and is based on the GV60, Genesis' first all-electric platform model. The concept car has an optimized battery and electric motor configuration, taking into account the design aesthetics and mechanical performance.
The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept combines aesthetic appeal with chassis mechanical, aerodynamic and thermodynamic considerations in terms of exterior design. Last December, the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept made its debut at the Gran Turismo World Series Grand Final in Barcelona, Spain. The concept car features Genesis' signature reverse wedge streamline, which maximizes the ratio of the instrument panel to the front axle while moving the driver's seat and powertrain back for a visually elegant mid-engine layout.
Genesis GV80 Coupe vs. the new Genesis GV80
The Genesis GV80 coupe features a double-layered wide grille with the emblem of Bravery, a bold and elegant body line, and an integrated roof rack. The new car is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine as standard, and the interior and exterior design have been fully upgraded, and the fingerprint recognition system can be passed through the fingerprint recognition module. The newly upgraded Genesis Active Safety Control driver assistance system is equipped with a host of advanced driver assistance features.
