Changan Mazda's first electric sedan, the MAZDA EZ-6, made its world premiere at the Beijing Motor Show. The new model will be available in both all-electric and extended-range power options, and will be launched later this year.
The MAZDA EZ-6 adopts the "Authentic x Modern" design theme, which combines Mazda's "soul of motion" aesthetic with electrification, showing a simple and sleek "neo-elegance" coupe style. The new car debuts two new colors, Streamer Gold and Moon Gray, which bring Mazda's unique high texture with a unique metallic paint process.
With a 50:50 axle-to-load ratio, the Mazda EZ-6 and Mazda's engineers' fine-tuned chassis system and the Mazda i-DM Intelligent Driving Control (i-DM) ensure that the "human-horse-in-one" driving pleasure is preserved in the era of electrification. The new car offers four driving modes: ECO, Comfort, Sport and Custom, and is equipped with an intelligent electric rear wing.
The new car is equipped with a 14.6-inch high-definition LCD touch screen and integrates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, which keeps up with the trend in the cockpit experience. The vehicle provides 13 ultra-intelligent cockpit scenario modes, which support air conditioning, seats, vehicle settings, audio-visual, entertainment and other functions in all scenarios.
The driver's seat of the MAZDA EZ-6 is based on Mazda's ergonomic research results and perfectly conforms to the shape of the human spine. Other comfort features include zero-gravity front seats, an ultra-quiet cabin, a panoramic canopy with electric sunshades, 64-colour ambient lighting, and SONY's bespoke premium surround sound system.
In the era of electrification, Mazda will continue to challenge the world's most stringent safety evaluation standards. EZ-6 adopts 7 horizontal and 5 vertical all-steel cage body, with high-strength steel accounting for 66.25%, of which the roof beam is made of 1,500Mpa grade cold-rolled steel. The vehicle offers 9 airbags.
Based on the combination of high-definition camera and high-performance radar perception hardware, the MAZDA EZ-6 provides a safe and smooth driving solution in three dimensions: driving assistance, hazard perception and hazard avoidance, covering more than 100 high-frequency intelligent driving scenarios and 150+ intelligent parking services. In terms of battery safety, the new car has passed strict verification with a maximum of 20 times the national standard, and is impact-resistant, extrusion-resistant, non-fire-resistant, non-explosive, and at the same time, it can monitor thermal runaway, battery life, and cell status 24 hours a day.
The Mazda EZ-6 will be mass-produced at Changan Mazda's plant in Nanjing.
