There may be many people who don't know the price of solar water heaters now, let's put it this way: in the past, the solar water heater on the roof, a slightly famous brand, the entry model was more than 2,000 yuan.
But this kind of solar energy can't be used many times, for example, the high-rise where my family lives, the roof of the building is a fire station, and it is forbidden to install solar water heaters. So I had to choose a wall-mounted solar water heater:

.02 The temperature is too low and there are many complaints
The after-sales worker pulled out his phone and showed me the inside of their dispatch system. The reason for the maintenance above is very simple, 80% only two words: not hot!
Insufficient temperature is the main drawback of solar water heaters.
My family called after-sales that time, also because it was not hot. The after-sales worker said that the wall-mounted solar energy in my home is no longer the same thing as the one on the roof of the building:
The solar panels and the water tank of the wall-mounted solar water heater are separated, connected by several pipes in the middle, and there is antifreeze in the pipes (in fact, it is a heat conduction medium, colloquially called "antifreeze"). These water heaters rely on solar panels to heat the antifreeze, which in turn heats the water in the tank.
The efficiency is visibly low!
This solar water heater can get heat, and it only exists in one situation: there is no shelter on the south side. In a balcony like my house, which can only be sunbathed for three or four hours a day, it can only be heated by electricity.

It can be seen that this worker is really planning to resign, and he strongly persuaded me to replace the water heater at home as soon as possible. I was actually lucky enough to catch the promotion:

But two years have passed in a blink of an eye, and I have called for after-sales many times in the past two years. Every time I came, I simply adjusted the direction of the pipes, filled in some antifreeze, and repaired the insulation, but it finally had some effect.

Workers told me that solar water heaters are just like that, and they have to be repaired several times a year.
Everything is easy to say during the warranty period, and it is free to repair anyway. But after the warranty period, it will be troublesome, and the maintenance is not expensive, but it involves the cost of aerial work - although it is cheaper than the aerial operation fee of air conditioning, it is about 100 yuan each time.
.04 The distance is too far and the comfort is poor
It doesn't matter how high the price is, and the maintenance trouble can be endured, as long as the bath is comfortable. Here's what I thought when I bought a solar water heater:
The water tank of a solar water heater generally starts at 80L and often opens 100L. And the temperature is also high, so you can mix in more cold water. Compared to electric water heaters, solar energy can provide more hot water!
Of course, it turned out that "high temperature" was speculation, but the large capacity can also make up for it.
However, although the capacity is large, the comfort is not high. The after-sales worker also said: "Your house is very painful when you take a bath in winter, right?"
The solar water heater can only be installed on the balcony, but the shower in my house is in the bathroom. The distance between the two is nearly ten meters in a straight line, and cold water is used for nearly a minute before each bath.
The problems of winter will be more prominent:
Turn off the water here, and the water in the hot water pipes will slowly get cooler. Since the pipes are too long, they cool quickly. Even if you only turn off the water for 1 minute, you should put the cold water again for 1 minute.
