ON APRIL 25, THE 1100TEU CONTAINER SHIP NO. 2 "CA OSAKA" (AA007M), BUILT BY CHINA SHIPBUILDING GROUP WUCHANG SHIPBUILDING FOR CA SHIPPING, WAS DELIVERED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
The early delivery of the ship is the embodiment of the achievements of Wuchang Shipbuilding into the "fast lane" and "acceleration", which shows the company's comprehensive strength in design and construction, and also presents a heavy gift for the 90th anniversary of Wuchang Shipyard.
Leaders and guests from Wuchang Shipbuilding, Yahai Shipping, Japan Classification Society, Colombian Ship Management Company and other relevant units witnessed the delivery ceremony. At the delivery ceremony, the shipowner highly affirmed the construction quality of the 1100TEU container ship No. 1 delivered in January 2024.
The shipowner said that during the operation of the vessel, the 1100TEU container ship No. 1 showed its excellent performance, both in terms of stability in adverse weather conditions and excellent performance in cargo carrying capacity, which exceeded expectations.
In the process of building the No. 2 ship, we fully absorbed the construction experience of the No. 1 ship, strengthened the quality control, improved the construction efficiency and quality, and kept improving all aspects and processes from design and construction. The No. 2 ship delivered this time is in better condition than the No. 1 ship.
In recent years, Wuchang Shipbuilding has continued to benchmark advanced shipbuilding models and management experience at home and abroad, focusing on the integrated construction of design, manufacturing and management, the promotion and application of advanced manufacturing technology, the integrated precision manufacturing of shell outfitting coating, the digital construction of production lines, the improvement of the integrity of each stage, the improvement of the engineering plan management system, and the improvement of the utilization rate of core resources. The No. 1 ship of the 1100TEU container ship has been delivered ahead of schedule, opening the mode of early delivery of ships.
After the ship left the factory on March 16, the delivery team cooperated closely with the shipowner's ship inspection, promoted the project progress in strict accordance with the special delivery plan, and efficiently completed the ship ferry, ship trial, and the elimination of the shipowner's ship inspection opinions, ensuring the smooth delivery of the ship. It is worth mentioning that the sea trial test period of the ship is only 5 days, all indicators meet the technical specifications or contract requirements, the main engine reaches 19.07 knots under 85% SMCR working conditions, and the delivery is successfully completed in 41 days away from the factory.
According to reports, the 1100TEU container ship is the third generation of the latest feeder container ship launched by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) of China Shipbuilding Group, with a length of 147.9 meters, a beam of 23.25 meters, a depth of 11.5 meters, a structural draft of 8.5 meters, and a capacity of 1182 20-foot standard containers. Compared with the same type of ships, the ship has the characteristics of large carrying capacity, large number of heavy containers, large number of cold containers, large number of high containers, high speed, low fuel consumption, etc., with strong and flexible cargo capacity, excellent speed and fuel economy, and excellent comfort, and is equipped with intelligent systems including integrated platform functions and intelligent energy efficiency management, hull performance management, intelligent video management, etc., which is a green and environmentally friendly ship type integrating economy, safety and intelligence.
