In the traditional concept of homeschooling, parents usually play the role of authority and guide. They are accustomed to setting rules for their children and expecting them to act according to those rules.

However, with the continuous updating of educational concepts, people have begun to realize that overly strict and unreasonable discipline may not be conducive to the overall development of children.

Conversely, in some cases, if parents have less control over their children and give them more freedom and space to explore, their children may be able to demonstrate better abilities and qualities.

What does it mean to be "unreasonable"?

"Unreasonable" here does not mean to let go or ignore the child's wrong behavior, but rather to the fact that parents do not interfere too much with their child's autonomy and creativity.

This type of education encourages children to explore and learn on their own, which in turn develops their independent thinking and problem-solving skills.

Scientific research has shown that a child's cognitive and emotional development requires an environment where they can explore and make mistakes freely.

When parents have too much control over their children's behavior, children may become dependent, lack self-confidence, and dare not try new things, which limits their potential development to a certain extent.

On the contrary, when parents give their children the right amount of freedom, children can learn and grow through their own efforts, and such an experience will increase their self-confidence and adaptability.

Ming is a curious child who loves to disassemble toys and explore how they work.

If his father was a strict person, he might have considered this behavior destructive and would not allow Xiao Ming to do so.

But Ming's mother takes a different view, believing that it is a learning process and therefore she encourages him to try, even if it means that the toy may be damaged.

As a result, Xiao Ming not only learned a lot about mechanics, but also cultivated his hands-on ability and innovative thinking.

Xiao Hua was very interested in painting, but his father thought that studying mathematics and science was more important, so he always limited the time Xiao Hua could paint.

By chance, Xiaohua's mother discovered his paintings and was shocked by his talent. She decided to support Xiaohua's interest and give him more time and resources to practice painting.

In addition to encouraging their child's autonomy, parents can help their child grow into a better person by:

1. Provide choices: Give children a variety of options so that they learn to weigh the pros and cons and make decisions.

2. Encourage exploration: Encourage your child to try new things, even if it means they may fail.

3. Listen and communicate: Listen carefully to your child's thoughts and feelings, and have an open and honest conversation with them.

4. Set reasonable expectations: Set challenging and achievable goals for your child and encourage them to work towards them.
