"This is not so much an exhibition of paintings, but rather a gathering of beautiful light, light of hope and light of reason. Today, the exhibition of works by contemporary artists "All with Light" opened at the Zhu Qizhan Art Museum.

According to the curator Wang Bei, the eight artists participating in the exhibition are Chen Yan, Chen Shuxia, Kang Lei, Tang Qian, Mao Donghua, Pan Wenxun, Zhang Yanzi and Zhou Yan, from Beijing, Shanghai and Zhejiang, bringing more than 40 works. Most of these artists were born in the 70s of the last century, and all of them have been trained by traditional professional art academies for many years, and they have also made great achievements in their respective creative fields. In this exhibition, a selection of artists' works is exhibited on the first floor, Chinese paintings on the second floor, and oil paintings on the third floor. Through these works, we can see that the artists are constantly looking for a variety of possibilities for artistic expression—they use ink, oil paint, silver salt film, painkiller patches and other media to express where they are, what they see, and what they think, presenting excellent works full of philosophy and feelings.

This time, Mao Donghua, vice president of the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, brought her ink painting "Sea View Series - Shanghai Bund Story". She introduced that she originally created ink paintings with animals as the theme. In an exchange with other artists, they talked about how few people use the techniques of Chinese painting to paint the Bund, an iconic attraction in Shanghai, which inspired her a lot. In recent years, she has focused on the two academic propositions of the transformation and development of modernity in Chinese painting, and has studied the visual and aesthetic experience of contemporary urban life through the expression methods of Chinese painting, as well as the transformation and application of modernity in the meaning and language of Chinese brush and ink based on new themes. She hopes that more artists will use techniques rich in the characteristics of her own artistic language to create more excellent works that break through themes, textures, materials, etc.

Miss Luo, a member of the audience, was deeply impressed by the works brought by Zhang Ziyan, a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, who used painkillers in the works exhibited such as "Palace" and "Face". By integrating interdisciplinary comparative research such as ancient Chinese philosophical thought, traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, psychology, etc., and adding new materials such as painkillers, gauze, plasters, and band-aids, we explore the various possibilities of the traditional language of ink and wash at present, and form a highly recognizable artistic language, broadening the boundaries of ink expression.
