Since its official opening in November 2009, the China Wetland Museum has been an important place for the public to learn about wetlands and get close to nature, and this year marks its 15th anniversary.

The designer of the wetland museum is the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, and the design uses the "green hill" as the expression carrier, and the whole building is cleverly integrated with the hill, and the shape is unique. This is also the reason why many tourists who come to the China Wetland Museum for the first time cannot find out where the museum is. The main building is covered with green vegetation, and the murmuring water can be heard everywhere in the museum, fully conveying the theme of "wetland".

After this renovation, the exhibition hall area of the museum has been expanded from the original 7,800 square meters to 8,500 square meters. Walking into the lobby on the first floor, you will be greeted by the pure white giant art installation "Boat of Life", which occupies the entire vertical space from the ground to the top, making the exhibition hall appear spacious but not empty, and also allowing visitors to feel the charm of the wetland as soon as they enter.

The design concept of the art installation is to transform the wetland into a flat boat that carries thousands of creatures to thrive, providing habitat and breeding ground for many wild animals, and is the cradle of life, implying that wetlands and all things are a community with a shared future.

Throughout the museum, many new rest spaces and interactive areas for science popularization are interspersed between each exhibition hall, which is very suitable for parent-child families to walk their babies.

In this exhibition hall with a story, the museum specifically contacted the aborigines of Xixi and recorded their memories with Xixi. The old stone slabs, Xixi dragon boats, and Xixi people's farm tools that were dismantled from Xixi carry the memories of many old Xixi people, and they are still preserved in the exhibition hall.
