INTERMAT 2024 opened in Paris on April 24, with Cummins unveiling its latest 15-liter non-road EU Stage V engine with a power of 700 hp (522 kW) and a maximum torque of 3,200 Nm. As Cummins' heavy-duty power flagship product, the Cummins X15 has the advantages of high reliability, low fuel consumption and better comprehensive operating costs (TCO), and is also one of the star products of Cummins' new multi-fuel engine platform.
With the advantages of Cummins' highly integrated and versatile components, on the basis of the common architecture, only a few differentiated parts need to be adjusted to realize the transformation of low-carbon or zero-carbon fuels such as diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, etc., providing customers with greater convenience, and can choose more economical and energy-saving power fuel solutions according to different application needs, while reducing fuel consumption, and saving production costs and maintenance costs to a greater extent.
High-efficiency hydrogen internal combustion engine
At this time, Cummins also showcased the hydrogen mid-horsepower Classic Series B6.7H high-efficiency hydrogen internal combustion engine, which can reach 290 horsepower (216 kW) and maximum torque of 1200 Nm, which can meet non-road Euro VI (EU Stage VI) and North American Tier 5 emission standards. When selecting Cummins hydrogen internal combustion engine and traditional diesel engine on the same platform, the engineering equipment can achieve seamless adaptation of different fuel migrations, using the same gearbox, cooling system and hydraulic system, which greatly reduces the difficulty of vehicle integration of OEMs, as well as the cost of engineering development and use.
