3 cognitive traps, make you lazy and sad, understand early and benefit early

author:A fat read

According to my observation, more than 90% of people have fallen into these 3 cognitive traps, because they are deeply trapped in these traps but do not know it, resulting in them obviously working hard, but life is always not good, and in the end they attribute the reason to not working hard, constantly trying in the wrong direction.

Today, Ah Fat will share these 3 cognitive traps with you, so that you can understand as thoroughly as possible and benefit from it as soon as possible.

Maybe after you understand, the efficiency of your efforts in the future will be improved a lot!

3 cognitive traps, make you lazy and sad, understand early and benefit early

The first cognitive trap: perfectionism

Many people think that if they want to live a better life, they must do everything perfectly and keep pursuing perfection!

It's a big mistake, and doing so will only make us lazy and depressed.

Let's talk about my real experience, I have taken a lot of detours because of perfectionism!

I didn't have the habit of reading before, but one day, I realized the benefits of reading and made up my mind to read more and read good books.

So I set myself the goal of reading very complex and in-depth books to improve my ability quickly, and I asked myself to read one book a week.

Because I didn't have any reading foundation and no reading habits, I was very miserable in the process of reading, the speed was ridiculously slow, and there was no positive feedback, so I only read for 2 or 3 days, and then I lay flat.

Later, I gave up the so-called perfectionism and changed to activism, that is, what to do, as long as I can act quickly, as for the result, it doesn't matter.

After I changed my strategy, I picked out some easy and simple books to read, and I didn't set how long I had to read a book, just one book a year.

Such a relaxed and simple state made me act quickly, and slowly formed a habit, and then I increased the reading intensity, and I was able to cope well, and my reading ability became better and better!

I also made a huge mistake in writing, when I was a novice writer, I wanted to write 100,000 plus explosive articles, and I wanted to have several articles a week.

Obviously, it was impossible to do it, so I tried very hard, but I kept failing in writing, and at the end of the day, I even wanted to give up writing.

Fortunately, I changed my strategy, I don't care about traffic, I don't care about the quality of the article, as long as I write it, even if it's garbage, I will praise myself.

That's the positive feedback, and I'm able to keep writing better and better, and if I hadn't changed my strategy, I'd probably have given up writing because of disappointment!

Therefore, change your strategy, no matter what you do in the future, you must act more than you think, don't give yourself high standards and high requirements at the beginning, first use relatively low standards and requirements, let yourself act easily, only continuous action, we can continue to grow and benefit!

The second cognitive trap: think deeply, but don't overthink.

Deep thinking is necessary to make it easier for us to get to the bottom of things. The specific way to think deeply is to constantly ask something "why".

What is overthinking? Overthinking refers to a person doing a lot of unimportant thinking, which will consume our energy, and may also cause us to fall into infinite assumptions, causing serious internal friction to ourselves!

For example, some people go to an interview, and before the interview, they ask Yy countless questions, such as: "What will HR ask, what if I don't answer, what if I'm nervous, I know it, but I forget what to do"

Many people have been overthinking, but they don't know it, and they think they are thinking deeply, but as a result, their internal friction is getting more and more serious, and finally the "mobile phone" is out of power, and they become lazy and sad!

I remember when I first started working on self-media, when an article was published, I always thought, "What if someone doesn't agree with my point of view? What if someone sprays me? What if my friends and colleagues see it?"

I always think about these problems, which make me tired, but in fact, these problems have not happened, we don't know how things will become, even if we avoid them, it has not helped my self-media, because this is not the essence of the self-media, solve them, I can't make any progress in the self-media!

Thinking is essential, but we have to think about our own thinking, observe whether our thinking is on the right track, every time we think, whether we can get closer to the essence of things, if it is not helpful to approach the essence of things, it will all become internal friction, strictly control our thinking!

When we can't help but want to overthink, we must force ourselves to think deeply, when we can continue to explore the essence, things will have more possibilities to solve, we will naturally not overthink to be anxious!

The third cognitive trap: paying for knowledge

Knowledge payment is definitely one of the shortcuts for everyone to get rapid growth, and choosing the right knowledge payment may allow us to avoid 1 or 2 years of detours.

However, many people have a wrong understanding of knowledge payment, which leads to many people spending a lot of money and learning a lot of awesome courses, but there is nothing to gain, so on the contrary, knowledge payment cuts leeks.

Every industry has leeks, and the knowledge payment industry is no exception, but the essential reason why most people do knowledge payment but have no gain at all is that they fall into a misunderstanding of knowledge payment: they think that knowledge can solve problems.

Many people's journey of paying for knowledge only stops at the step of learning knowledge

Rockefeller said, "Knowledge is empty"

If we only have knowledge, even if it is awesome knowledge, it can't bring us a little help, if we have to say that it is useful, then at most after learning some knowledge, our growth anxiety has been alleviated, and we have more talking points, and there is no other use!

This is the same as driving, we have learned a lot of driving knowledge, know how to park, how to overtake, but if you don't drive for a while, no matter how much knowledge you learn, driving skills will not improve.

You learn a lot of writing skills, but if you don't actually write, in a few days, you may forget all these skills, let alone improve your writing skills!

3 cognitive traps, make you lazy and sad, understand early and benefit early

Knowledge payment is only the beginning of your growth, you must have gains, such as constantly exporting and practicing what you have learned, so that knowledge can really be transformed into our flesh and blood!

Okay, that's all for today's sharing, I'm a fat, follow me, and praise for thinking!
