In order to let children establish environmental awareness from an early age, understand the harm caused by garbage to the environment, understand the importance of garbage classification, and be proficient in sorting skills. On April 24, 2024, the children of Seven Colors Sunshine Kindergarten in Saihan District walked into the "Xincheng Domestic Waste Sorting Center and Garbage Classification Practice Education Base" to start a low-carbon life practice activity.
During the activity, the staff led the children to visit the sorting and baling machine for recyclables, kitchen waste treatment room, bulky garbage shredder and other sorting and processing facilities in the sorting center, and vividly described the workflow of various equipment. On the premise of ensuring the safety of the children, the staff also guided the children to participate in the whole process of sorting, transporting, compressing and packing recyclables.
After the experience, the children came to the practical education experience center, and the staff used the "sand table" to explain, so that everyone could understand the operation system of the domestic waste sorting center in the new city in more detail. At the same time, the staff of the Xincheng Practical Education Experience Center also participated in the garbage classification game with the children, and the awareness of garbage classification was deeply implanted in the hearts of the children in an entertaining way.
Through this visit, the children's environmental awareness was cultivated, and the children's environmental awareness of "starting from me, starting from the small things around them" and their sense of responsibility to participate in garbage classification were enhanced. At the same time, through participating in social practice, the children imperceptibly learned the knowledge of garbage classification, which helped the children to develop civilized habits.
