[New Net Master's One-Day Narrative 20240423] Gao Yan: Reading that little thing

Breaking out of the cocoon into a butterfly is a beautiful scenery that has gone through painful struggles and unremitting efforts to break through purgatory and regain a new life. Growing up is constantly breaking out of the cocoon and becoming a butterfly.

A different reading day

Today is April 23, 2023, World Book Day. Holding a book I like and reading it quietly in the gentle light is what life should be like and what this day should be, however, from morning to noon, I have been holding the "Junior High School Student Award-winning Essay" while I am not in class. From different themes to different genres, how should we conceive, how should we conceive, how should we write...... I was like a student preparing for an exam meditating. Because this afternoon I am going to participate in the Teacher Basic Skills Competition.

I have the habit of recording what I see and hear at any time, and I also have the habit of writing and writing after reading a book. But when I was asked to write a 600-word junior high school essay, I wasn't sure if I could handle it?

There is a little emotion:

The basic skills of Chinese teachers, such as chalk writing, reading aloud, and writing, need to be practiced every day and all their lives. But as if these things had been forgotten in the constant busyness of the day, not insisted on, and remembered, I couldn't help but reflect: what do I do every day? Where does my time go? The basic skills of teachers must be picked up.

Persistence is a very difficult thing, we only do it when we think about it, and even when we think about it, we will look for some reasons and choose to give up in our hearts, telling ourselves to do it again tomorrow! We all like the beauty of breaking out of the cocoon into a butterfly, but we can't bear the struggle and effort of breaking the cocoon. It's not that we don't have time to do some things, but that we give up on ourselves under the pretext of being busy. With this experience, I set myself the goal of finding time every day to write a page of chalk and read an article. Hopefully I can break out of my cocoon and become a butterfly.

Find out in the book

Recently, I found that there was such a problem in the early reading of the class: some students read those words repeatedly and did not turn the page at all, and some students carried the same book every day without changing the book at all. In fact, most of the students are studying on a fake basis, and as long as I sit there and hold the book, my morning reading task can be completed. I was wondering how I could get students to really make the most of that twenty minutes. I thought about having the students read a book together, but some students came late and couldn't participate in the session at all. So how do you do that?

When I got home from work, I took out Mr. Guan Jiangang's "Front-line Class", I don't know how many times I have opened this book, but every time I open it, I have a different experience.

In response to the problems in the class, I accurately found how to grasp the time for morning reading. This is very inspiring for me. Teacher Guan mentioned that the students should bring a book to the classroom, and read the book quietly after handing in their homework, if they want to check whether the students have really read, they can let him record the number of pages he reads, and if he can read ten pages at the end of the morning reading, he will get a reward sticker. This just solved my problem. I quickly created my statistical tables and incentives, hoping that students would really pick up a book, experience the joy of reading, draw nourishment from the book, and improve their thinking skills.

For me, class management is also constantly experiencing the process of breaking out of the cocoon into a butterfly, constantly discovering and solving problems, in order to grow rapidly.

Books accompany growth

As soon as everyone is born, someone needs to program the system software for him, such as whether to eat with chopsticks or knives and forks, the way to speak should conform to the expression habits of the local language, the way to get along with people includes greeting and talking to people, etc., and most importantly, how to behave, such as not cheating, not stealing, etc. The family is the software maker of the human psychological system.

- "Psychological Support" Li Meijin

My son will be in elementary school after the summer vacation this year. At this stage, I am cultivating the habit of completing tasks and reading regularly every day, but it is really a difficult process. No child wants to pick up a book and sit at a desk to read, and no child is born with a book to read. As a parent, I have to do my best to find ways to let my children develop the habit of active reading.

I accompanied my son to finish his homework and saw that he was writing very seriously, I praised him, and he was very happy. So I took the opportunity to bring up the matter that I had discussed with him many times without success. "Let's start reading today!" the son objected loudly as always: "Don't." I still patiently told him, "You know so many words, now you can read a book independently, just let your mother read it to you, you have to learn to read by yourself, that's better." "My son still doesn't want to read it, and in his subconscious it's a task, and I don't want to complete it. So I took a different approach. I took a picture book, and there weren't a lot of words on each page. I consulted with my son, and he read only one page a day and finished it in 21 days. This is a bad thing, and when my son heard that he was going to read it for so long, he immediately disagreed. To test his literacy, I changed the way I did: "If you read all this book today, you won't have to read it for a few days." As soon as my son finished listening, he didn't need to read it, he just picked up the book and read it. He only knows a few words in the whole book, and the whole book is not bad, and I have to find another way to keep him reading.

In fact, he has a strong interest in books, especially popular science books, because I have bought all kinds of books since I was a child, and often take him to the bookstore to read books. But I have always read, he watched, although this can make him insist on reading, accumulate knowledge, but it is still very different from real independent reading, therefore, the future direction of efforts is to find an entry point, let my son really read by himself. Looking forward to my companionship journey, it will continue to break out of the cocoon and become a butterfly.
