Cough and fever come and go?

Four tricks to get repeated low-grade fever

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that fever is a common emergency caused by the struggle between evil qi and righteous qi, and the main symptom is an increase in body temperature caused by excessive yang qi. But whether it is an external sensation or a fever caused by internal injury, the first thing to do is to reduce fever.

If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees Celsius, you should be treated with medication in time, and if the high fever does not go away, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. If there is a recurrent low-grade fever below 38 degrees Celsius, it is recommended to reduce the fever through appropriate TCM techniques.

A method suitable for operation at home

There are four main types that can be used together

  • Traditional Chinese medicine bath. Add nepeta, peppermint, ephedra or gypsum to warm water, soak until the whole body sweats slightly, and use the water temperature to stimulate the skin, meridians, acupuncture points and transdermal absorption of drugs, so as to achieve the effects of antipyretic, dispelling wind and relieving the surface, warming the meridian and dissipating cold, clearing heat and dampness.
  • Rub the acupuncture points. Strongly tap the Fengchi acupoint for 1~2 minutes to promote perspiration and reduce fever. Put the index finger and middle finger on both sides of the occipital bone naturally, slide it gently, and touch the two obvious depressions in the back occipital part that are the Fengchi acupoints.
  • Phlebotomy therapy. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the operation of various functions of the human body depends on the normal operation of qi and blood, and if there is enough qi and blood, it will be full of energy, and if the blood and qi are not passed, it will be easy to attack all kinds of diseases.
  • Gua Sha. The bladder meridian is an important barrier for the human body to resist external wind and cold, located on both sides of the back spine to the inside of the shoulder blade. When there is a fever, use a gua sha board to scrape the bladder meridian from top to bottom, which can play a role in reducing fever and driving away cold. When gua sha, it is recommended to use vegetable oils such as olive oil, rapeseed oil or green onion and ginger water to avoid breaking the skin. In addition, gua sha should not be used when sweating a lot.

It should be noted that children have a weak constitution and should be more cautious in choosing antipyretic methods. When the body temperature does not exceed 38.5 degrees Celsius, it is recommended to wet the forehead, armpits, elbow fossa and other parts with warm water to physically cool down or take a medicated bath, and avoid using alcohol scrubs.

Fever in children under 6 years of age

It is recommended to use pediatric massage techniques to cool down

Just remember three tricks

▼▼▼

  • Qingtian River water. Tianhe water point is located in the middle of the inner forearm, from the wrist to the elbow stria in a straight line, is one of the specific points of pediatric massage. Dip your thumb or index finger and middle finger in water, and push it in a straight line along the Tianhe water point from bottom to top (push in the direction of the elbow) for 5~15 minutes, which can treat children with external fever, irritability, cough and phlegm, asthma, convulsions, sore throat, etc.
  • "Retreat from the six intestines". The six intestine points are located on the side of the little fingers of the forearm, and the elbow is striated to the wrist. Put the index finger and middle finger together, push in a straight line from top to bottom (push in the direction of the little finger), and push the left and right hands for 3~5 minutes.
  • Push the spine. The spine is located in the midline of the back, in a straight line from the large vertebra to the guns. Use the index finger and middle finger to push straight from top to bottom for 3~5 minutes.

It is recommended to use a combination of the above three tips, if there is a sore throat or tonsil enlargement, suppuration and other symptoms at the same time, you can use it with the front midline of the neck squeeze sha.

In addition, the elderly also belong to the group of people with weak physique, and should pay attention to temperature supplementation after fever reduction, and it is recommended to carry out moxibustion and patching on Qihai and Guanyuan acupoints.

Cough and fever come and go?

Distinguish between cold and heat, and treat the symptoms and relieve cough

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that cough is the loss of lung and the reversal of lung qi, and the clinical performance is mainly manifested by coughing or spitting sputum, which is mainly divided into external cough and internal injury cough, the former is mainly wind cold, wind heat, and wind dryness, and the latter is divided into four categories: phlegm dampness, phlegm heat, liver fire, and yin deficiency.

It is advisable to prescribe the right medicine according to the type of cough. There are two simple ways to identify:

  • Looking at the quality of the tongue, the color of the tongue is light and cold, the red is hot, and the tongue coating is thick and white, indicating that it is wet;
  • Second, depending on the color of the phlegm, the cold cough is more phlegm white, the texture is thin or foamy, and the hot cough is more phlegm yellow and viscous. If the sputum is white and sticky, accompanied by red tongue, white and greasy tongue, and turbid breath, it is also a hot cough.

For children under 6 years of age with cough, it is recommended to apply acupuncture points. When coughing in wind and cold, it is recommended to use 3 parts of white mustard seeds, 3 parts of Banxia, 1 part of male cloves, 5 parts of ephedra, and 2 parts of fine spice, and mix them with ginger juice and apply them to the navel. When coughing in wind and heat, it is recommended to use 15 grams of Coptis chinensis and 15 grams of Fa Banxia to grind the end, take 5 grams each time, and take 1 clove of garlic to mash, mix and paste it at the Yongquan acupoint.

When coughing repeatedly, you can use Tuina Tap. It is recommended to rub and push the Jizhong acupoint, push the shoulder blade, press and knead the Fengmen acupoint, Lung Yu acupoint, or tap the Tiantu acupoint, Lieqi acupoint and Hegu acupoint, and the strength should be strong local soreness.

For adults, when coughing in the wind and cold, you can cupping the wind gate and lung Yu, or mix 10 grams of Baibu juice, 6 grams of ginger juice and a little honey for acupuncture points, and at the same time rub the acupuncture points such as Fengchi, Dazhu, Lieqi, Jizhong, Tiantu, etc. If there is a lot of phlegm, it is recommended to add Fenglong and Zusanli acupoints, and when coughing with wind and heat, it is recommended to choose medicines or foods that clear away heat and dissolve phlegm and relieve cough, such as Sydney pear juice boiled with 1 pear, 3 grams of Sichuan fritillary, 3 grams of bellflower, 9 grams of chrysanthemum and 20 grams of rock sugar, or 100 grams of fresh bamboo porridge and 50 grams of japonica rice boiled bamboo porridge.

It should be noted that during the period of fever and cough, it is necessary to avoid greasy, salty and sour foods, and eat less or no spicy, dry, fatty and sweet foods. People with high fever and dry throat should drink more warm water to cool down properly.

Finally, I will share two health actions

Exercise daily to keep fit

  • Percussion. Close the mouth lightly, bite the upper and lower teeth 100~1000 times in a row, and then puff up the cheeks to make a gargle, and swallow the liquid in the mouth.
  • Ear-pulling exercises. Rub the palms of both hands, gently rub the pinna for 2~3 minutes, rub the pinna with the thumb and index finger from top to bottom, repeatedly pull the earlobe down 30~50 times, and press the tragus with the index finger.
