On January 7, 1987, the 417th Regiment of the 139th Division of the 47th Army of the People's Liberation Army launched a fierce attack on the 167th Heights on the Laoshan Front. Of the Black Panther commandos who participated in the battle, only six survived, creating a heroic elegy.

In 1979, Vietnam, supported by the Soviet Union, broke its friendly relations with China and Vietnam for many years, drove out overseas Chinese in Vietnam, and brazenly launched provocations on China's southwest border.
At that time, China had just ended the "ten years of turmoil", and the army had not fought for more than a decade since the "Sino-Indian Border Self-Defense Counterattack" in 1962. Fighting Vietnam requires great determination. Vietnam, on the other hand, ignored our repeated warnings, and after unable to bear it, we decided to send troops to the southwest to completely eliminate the invading enemy.
The central authorities appointed Xu Shiyou and Yang Dezhi as commanders-in-chief, and ordered all group armies to concentrate their superiority in a limited period of time, break through each one, and make a quick decision.

Under the heroic battle of the People's Liberation Army, it fought all the way south to Hanoi. After receiving the order from the central authorities, the People's Liberation Army announced its withdrawal, and before it withdrew, it blew up a large number of roads, railways and important military and political facilities, and returned a large number of China's aid materials during the Vietnam War. On March 16, 1979, the whole army withdrew to China and declared the end of the war.
However, after the end of the war, Vietnam remained unrepentant and continued to use force in the southwestern border of our country. Pillboxes and artillery towers were built on the hills bordering the two countries, which were dangerous and difficult to defend and difficult to attack. The Central Military Commission decided: In addition to the Yunnan Military Region continuing to hold the border defense line, troops from major military regions throughout the country have been drawn to defend operations. The first is to defend the territory, and the second is to decide to take this opportunity to "train troops in actual combat."
On the 167th highland of the Laoshan Theater, the Jinan Military Region has been fighting with the enemy to the death, "gaining and losing, losing and regaining." The Vietnamese army also focused on building a large number of tun bing caves and fortifications in 167, stationed troops for a long time, and repeatedly opened fire on our garrison, causing casualties in our army. After the Lanzhou Military Region took over in 1986, it decided: take the initiative to attack, do not give the enemy a chance to breathe, and "liberate" the 167 heights. The task fell on the 417th Regiment of the 139th Division of the 47th Army, and the cadres of the military region decided to send excellent soldiers to launch a fierce and accurate attack on the 167th Highland to eliminate the arrogance of the Vietnamese army.
The fighters in charge of this operation are the "Black Panther Commando", a team that is ready to die at any time, but the fighters are still vying to serve the motherland. Composed of sharp soldiers selected from various platoons and squads, some of the soldiers are not even twenty years old, just in time, to participate in the "Black Panther Commando", enough to have a brilliant life.
Due to the particularity of the team and the operation, the superior did not specify who would be the captain. Under the recommendation of the team members, Guo Ji'er, a veteran with rich combat experience, served as the captain of the first commando team. The rest of the commando teams, firepower groups, medical logistics and other teams are also trained and fought by new recruits led by veterans.
In October 1986, not long after the formation of the team, because many people had no combat experience, their superiors asked them to rescue and meet their comrades who had just returned from the front. See the death of comrades-in-arms, the wounds of wounds. Some have not spoken a few words to themselves, and they will never see them again, and they understand that this is the cruelty of war.

Subsequently, 31 of the Black Panther Commando were sent to a base to start training and drills, including the captain Guo Ji'er. Every day at three o'clock in the morning, I have to get up and start training. But they don't cry bitterness, they know that they sweat more when training, and less blood when fighting. Only by exercising tough strength can we make accurate judgments!
Commando member Seinfeld wrote in his diary: "I was born in the era of peace, grew up to enlist in the army, and was able to join the commando to perform difficult tasks, how glorious and meaningful my life will be!" ”
Due to the tight war, the superior ordered that the enemy fortifications on the 167 heights must be destroyed as soon as possible to win the opportunity for our army to break through the whole line, and the Black Panther Commando finally ushered in the day of taking the initiative to attack. The team members who received the order were writing letters to their comrades-in-arms and families. Soldier Li Guosheng wrote to his compatriots: "When you saw my letter, I had already set out with the troops. Maybe on the battlefield, desperate with the enemy. Listen to your comrades-in-arms, this battle will be very cruel. So, this letter may be the last one I wrote to you, and if I sacrifice, please help me send another letter in the envelope to my grandmother. If I come back alive, we'll drink him all night and then we'll go home together!" ”
Subsequently, Li Guosheng and his comrades-in-arms went to the front line with the convoy, in the truck, the soldiers sat in separate rows, but no one spoke, they were all closing their eyes and recuperating, at this moment, what they thought of was definitely the father and mother at home, the wife and children...
After arriving at their destination, the reporters and photographers accompanying the army wanted to take pictures of each of them, and the camera was still a rarity at that time, and taking pictures was a luxury. For these unfamiliar cameras, the soldiers were embarrassed to face the photographers. The photographer advised everyone not to be shy, smile and face the camera, showing the most optimistic side.
The warriors, dressed in military uniforms and carrying rifles on their shoulders, were still smiling brightly as they were about to go to the battlefield. Everyone was still laughing and chatting after taking pictures. Seriously, no one knows what will be faced next, who will make what merit, who will destroy how many enemies, as long as they can come back alive is the best.
In the early morning of the next day, eleven team members lurking only more than 100 meters away from the enemy received orders from the radio, and after deputy captain Ma Yuge counted the number of people, each of them carried weapons and ammunition and crawled to the combat area. Due to the complex terrain and heavy equipment, the tired soldiers were sweating profusely, and the Vietnamese army often conducted fire reconnaissance nearby from time to time. It took less than fifty meters to advance, and it took nearly an hour.
After about two hours of crawling, the team members finally reached their destination, which was only more than ten meters away from the main position of Highland 167. After the team members finished lurking, they signaled to the rear that they had arrived safely. The Vietnamese troops, who were not far from here, were unaware. In the following time, Ma Zhijun, Guo Ji'e, Wang Quanyou, Li Guosheng, Huang Yong, Li Yushan and others had led the team to their places.
However, when Wang Quanyou's team was lurking in a hidden place of more than ten meters in Area 3, several enemy mortar shells hit the team members. The warrior Xi Wenhua was killed, and Dong Yong'an and Li Qiuping were seriously injured. Wang Quanyou had to endure grief and crawled over to rescue the wounded. In order to prevent himself from shouting, Dong Yong'an wrapped the grenade with a handkerchief, stuffed it into his mouth, and bit it deadly, until the last moment of his life, he did not shout a word, moved a step, and protected the lurking team members with his life to ensure the victory of the battle.
At 7 o'clock, I received an order from my superiors. The support artillery in the rear fired more than a thousand shells, and the enemy position was in a sea of fire. The commandos immediately pounced on the enemy. Li Xiudong, in District 4, took the explosive package and stuffed it into the Vietnamese hiding hole. Captain Ma Yug, went to Hole 8 alone, stuffed grenades into the enemy hole, and killed several Vietnamese soldiers. The rest of the fighters were blocked on Hole 6 and Hole 9.
Wang Quanyou and his comrades in District 3 threw two explosive packs at the enemy's hiding hole, and then rushed to Hole 11. Li Qiuping, who was seriously wounded, also fought hard against the enemy and fought tenaciously until his last breath.
After my shelling was over, Li Guosheng quickly blew up Hole 3 in Area 2. Machine gunner Li Yuanxi covered his comrades Ren Jianqing and Xiao Yibo and rushed to Hole 4 and successfully blew it up. After the soldier Ma Zhanfu blew up several enemy machine gun fire points in succession, he was shot unconscious in the abdomen, and after regaining consciousness, he endured the pain, took the blast canister and pounced on the enemy's firing hole, pulled the burst canister and stuffed it. In order to prevent being thrown out, Ma Zhanfu used his body to block the opening of the cave and died with the enemy.
Li Yuanxi, who was injured by the enemy mortar, said to the squad leader after Li Guosheng was bandaged, "Squad leader, rest assured, I can still fight." Even if I die, I will pull an enemy to accompany me to the funeral! ”
The angry enemy let the rear artillery shell fiercely, and the battle entered the most intense stage. Ma Yuge was injured in his left hand, but still led the team to the 10th hole. After great efforts, enemy radio stations and a large amount of guns and ammunition were captured, and one enemy was captured.
Captain Guo Ji'er led the soldiers, bravely commanding the battle against the artillery fire. In the meantime, an enemy shell knocked him unconscious, sobered up and immediately commanded.
Ma Yuge found that several Vietnamese troops were coming back at him, so he ordered his men to counterattack. The warrior Yan Shujun was injured by the enemy, and after bandaging and rescuing, he continued to take up the gun and killed many Vietnamese troops in a row, and then died heroically.

Due to the enemy's bombing, the radio of our army was destroyed, the camera division accompanying the army was also killed by shells, and the correspondent Zheng Wujun heroically sacrificed himself to protect Guo Ji'er. After requesting artillery support, Guo Ji'er still organized the fighters to carry out three counter-offensives.
At about 8 o'clock, all groups of commandos were ordered to search and suppress the spoils of war, hide themselves, and prepare for a counterattack. The warriors then repelled 3 waves of enemies who fought back. After six defeats, the Vietnamese army began to cover the 167 heights.
Deputy Captain Ma Yuge was awakened in a coma and requested to snatch the remains of his comrades-in-arms, and then rushed out of the cave and did his best to retrieve Li Qiuping's body, and Li Guosheng also snatched back the bodies of three martyrs.
The commando team braved the indiscriminate bombardment and sneak attack of the enemy's artillery, and the enemy and we fought fiercely for eleven hours, and the captain Guo Ji'er commanded the fighters to repel the enemy's attack many times. However, at this time, several soldiers had been sacrificed, and those who were alive were all injured to varying degrees, and they were all exhausted, and if they continued to fight, they would definitely be completely annihilated. Guo Ji'er immediately ordered: "Except for the correspondent Seinfeld and me, all the other team members retreated!" "But as soon as the order was spoken, there was opposition. Li Guosheng said, "I am the squad leader!" I have to hold my ground! "I'm a party member!" You must always be at the forefront! "Captain! Let me stay! Here you go! You are the backbone of the team! All the officers and men of the Black Panther Commando Team, relying on their loyal and fearless military spirit, destroyed dozens of Hidden Soldier Holes of the Vietnamese Army, and successfully repelled 6 counterattacks, annihilated hundreds of enemies, and captured various guns and ammunition. All the soldiers were awarded first- and second-class commendations.
Time flies, and as the decades go by, the surviving warriors have lived different lives and embarked on different paths. Warrior Li Guosheng turned into a photographer. The warrior Ma Zhijun became a wealthy merchant with the development of the economy. Every January, Captain Guo Ji'er would gather the surviving soldiers together and make a name for themselves in the martyrs' cemetery. When the sacrificed comrades are pointed, they will cry out for the comrades with tears: "Arrive! ”
