Enshrined in the Tang Dynasty

During the more than 200 years of the Tang Dynasty, there were eight emperors, including Gaozong, Wuhou, Zhongzong, Suzong, Dezong, Xianzong, Yizong and Xizong, who welcomed and offered Buddha finger relics to the Buddha. Every time the welcome and send-off is huge, the government and the opposition are sensational, and the emperor bows and worships, and the level is so high that it is unique. According to history, "if you open in 30 years, you will be rich and harmonious", which can be calmed down, the country and the people will be safe, and the wind and rain will be smooth. On the fourth day of the first month of the fifteenth year of Xiantong (874), when Li Yi returned the Buddha's bones for the last time, according to the Buddhist rituals, the Buddha's finger relics and thousands of rare treasures were sealed into the underground palace under the tower, and the Tang Mi mandala altar was offered. The emperors of the Tang Dynasty believed in Buddhism, made devout offerings to relics, and the temples were both large and small, showing dense harmony, making Famen Temple a royal temple and a Buddhist holy place that the world looked up to. The pagoda is known as the "Pagoda of the True Body of the Protector of the Country".

Gold and silverware

There are more than 120 pieces (groups) of gold and silver artifacts treasured in the underground palace of Famen Temple, which has high archaeological value. Most of these gold and silver utensils are specially made for the emperor's activities to welcome and send Buddha bones, the workmanship is extremely exquisite, and there are many engraved inscriptions, which provide convenience for judging the owner and judging the dynasty. Many tea utensils have also been unearthed, such as tea mills, tea bowls, etc., which are almost identical to those used in today's Japanese tea ceremony, proving that the Japanese tea ceremony originated in the Tang Dynasty in China.
