The soul can only walk alone. When a collective walks in unison according to a command, the soul is not present.
When several people are traveling together towards a specific destination, the soul is not present.
However, at these times, the absent soul may well be somewhere not far away, and you will suddenly hear its clear footsteps in the midst of the uproar.
The soul is a cup. If you use it to hold the pure water of the heavens, you are a saint.
If you use it to make the best of the earth, you are a poet.
If you refuse to give up either and are bent on using them to make a more perfect liquid in your cup, you are a philosopher.
However, we do not need to inquire about the capacity of our soul cup.
Under no circumstances would it be overloaded, because each person was allocated exactly what he would have to work his whole life to fill.
In fact, most cups contain very little water or wine, and many remain empty until the end.
Interesting souls can only walk alone, but not in an empty space. Rather, you feel as if you are in a dense forest, and like a primeval forest, there is no ready-made road, and you have to find and carve out a path yourself.
But as you walk, you will find a footprint here and there, a piece of used firewood, a mark carved into a tree.
So you know that there have been some similar souls walking in this forest, and your soul is not alone in walking alone.
There are many things that we feel necessary only because we already have them.
When we clean up our homes, we feel that everything is useful and we are reluctant to throw it away.
If, however, we have to move to a hut and keep very few things, we will be able to judge what we really need.
There are many things that we think we have to do simply because we have them on our agenda.
If we were to remove something out of thin air, we would have a hard time making trade-offs.
However, if we know that we have few days left and can only accomplish one thing, we will judge what we really want to do.
Where the space of the mind is occupied, it is often out of persecution.
If the poor and miserable are persecuted by poverty and misery, then the busy are persecuted by fame and responsibility.
Fame and fortune are also a kind of poverty, the unfillable pain is also characterized by scarcity, and the competition for vanity fair is also full of existential anxiety.
So, a busy person is likely to be a poor and miserable person in spirit.
If a person really likes a cause, and his body and mind are completely occupied by this cause, can it be said that he has no room for freedom of the mind?
This depends first of all on whether he really feels the joy of creation when he is engaged in this kind of business.
The free space of the mind is a realm of pleasure, including the joy of creating, the joy of reading, the joy of appreciating nature and art, the joy of emotional experience, the joy of idleness and reverie, and so on.
All these joys are not isolated, but symbiotic and interconnected.
Therefore, if a person is forever immersed in his work, and has no time to work and mind to enjoy other pleasures, his creative happiness and freedom of mind are also highly questionable.
No matter how much you love your career, and no matter what your career is, you must reserve an open mental space for yourself, an inner calmness and leisure.
It is only in this space of mind that you can savor your career as the fruit of your life.
If you don't have this space, you're always busy, your mind is always filled with all kinds of things related to your career, then, no matter what kind of external success you have achieved in your career, you have only lost your life and not tasted its fruits.
