The 2024 version of the map was launched, and the multi-phase image theme was opened for the first time, and the global terrain and mountain shadow service was added

On April 24, the 2024 version of the National Geographic Information Public Service Platform (Tiantu) was officially launched. By integrating the latest geographic information technology development technology, the 2024 version of Map (www.tianditu.gov.cn) has richer map data, more complete service functions, and more diverse innovative map products.

It is understood that the 2024 version of the map will update and release about 12,311,200 geographic information elements such as transportation, residential areas, water systems, green spaces, political districts, and place names and addresses, of which the number of government affairs points of interest such as government agencies, educational institutions, and medical institutions will increase by 549,700, and 7.94 million square kilometers of 2-meter resolution remote sensing images will be updated and released, and 6.55 million square kilometers of remote sensing images with a resolution of better than 1 meter will be released. Up to now, the total number of geographic information elements served by Tiantu online has reached 330 million, and the 2-meter resolution remote sensing images cover the entire land area, and the 1-meter resolution remote sensing images cover 98% of the land land. For the first time, the new edition of the map will open a special topic of multi-temporal images, and the public can view the historical images of 32 provincial-level nodes for nearly half a century. The three-dimensional display function of buildings in more than 100 urban built-up areas such as Huangpu District and Xuhui District of Shanghai, Chaoyang District and Daxing District of Beijing has been added, and three-dimensional visualization of residential areas and buildings is supported. The Global Terrain and Mountain Shadow service is added, which supports the overlay display of terrain and mountain shadows, vector maps, and image maps, and intuitively expresses the undulating changes of the ground.
