On April 24, according to the latest data released by market research agency Counterpoint Research, in the first quarter of 2024, Huawei surpassed OPPO with a market share of 15.5%, second only to Apple. With the release of Huawei's Pura 70 series and Huawei's Mate 70 series in the second half of the year, Huawei is expected to surpass Apple in the domestic smartphone market this year and enter the top three even in the face of competition from the iPhone 16 series.

Judging from the specific performance of various smartphone brand manufacturers in the first quarter of this year, although vivo's shipments fell by 0.4% year-on-year, it still ranked first with a market share of 17.4%;

Honor's shipments increased by 11.5% year-on-year, and its market share increased from 14.7% in the same period last year to 16.1%, ranking second.

Apple's iPhone shipments fell by 19.1% year-on-year, and its market share also fell to 15.7% from 19.7% in the same period last year, ranking third.

Thanks to the new products of the Mate 60 series, Mate X5, Pocket 2 and nova series, Huawei's shipments surged by 69.7% year-on-year, and its market share increased significantly from 9.3% in the same period last year to 15.5%, only 0.2% lower than Apple, ranking fourth.

In fifth place was OPPO (including OnePlus), with shipments down 15.5% year-on-year, and its market share also fell to 15.3% from 18.4% in the same period last year, while Xiaomi's shipments increased by 8.6% year-on-year, and its market share increased to 14.6% from 13.6% in the same period last year, ranking sixth.

According to industry rumors, Huawei aims to capture about 22% of the Chinese market this year and about 30% next year. If the rumors are true, then Huawei's mobile phone shipment target this year may be between 60 million and 65 million units, which is expected to hit the first place in the domestic smartphone market, and next year's shipments are expected to increase significantly to 80 million to 90 million units.
