This morning (April 24), Xue Kan, Secretary of the District Party Committee, visited the Digital Media Laboratory of Fudan University, discussed and exchanged views with teachers and students of the school, gained an in-depth understanding of the laboratory's cutting-edge technology research and the transformation of scientific research achievements, and listened to relevant opinions and suggestions. The Digital Media Laboratory of Fudan University has long been committed to the research of algorithms and mechanisms in the field of digital media processing, such as digital image intelligent processing, video analysis and understanding, 3D image processing, multimodal information processing, medical image analysis, etc., and the relevant research results have been widely recognized by all parties in society. Xue Kan visited the functional area of the laboratory and listened to the introduction of AIGC technology development and industrial application in detail.
At the subsequent symposium, Xue Kan had in-depth exchanges with the teachers and students of the Digital Media Laboratory on promoting the transfer and transformation of scientific research results, and responded to the current problems that need to be solved one by one. Xue Kan pointed out that artificial intelligence is one of the three leading industries that Shanghai is focusing on developing, and it is an important driving force for a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. At present, Yangpu is further promoting innovation and development, accelerating the construction of a "1+2+3+4" innovative modern industrial system, with a solid foundation for regional artificial intelligence development, a concentration of innovative elements, rich application scenarios, and a strong entrepreneurial atmosphere. The relevant departments of the district should strengthen communication and docking with the laboratory team, be the "logistics minister" who serves scientific and technological innovation and the "strategic partner" of achievement transformation and application, and help the research team seize the commanding heights of science and technology and cultivate new quality productivity.
