Judging from the actual car pictures, the front face shape of the new car has ushered in changes, the polygonal grille is decorated with chrome strips, which has a strong sense of hierarchy, and the round headlight cluster is blackened, and the lens and ring daytime running lights are integrated inside, which is an iconic design style.
The lower surround part adopts a three-section design, and the interior is decorated with black honeycomb lines, which has a strong sporty atmosphere and a domineering style.
In terms of side styling, the roofline is relatively straight, and the body feels more square, which belongs to the iconic design style of Mercedes-Benz G-Class; the waistline adopts a segmented design, which has a strong recognition; the wheel arches and side skirts are designed with a raised wide-body kit, which makes the body look more burly; and the wheels adopt a multi-spoke shape, and the style is quite simple.
In terms of tail styling, the roof is equipped with a small-sized spoiler and high-mounted brake lights, and the full-size spare tire cover is not absent, which belongs to the common design language of the hard-core SUV style, and the tailgate also adopts a side-opening design, and the shape of the taillight group is relatively small, which is very recognizable when lit;
Inside, there are no changes to the overall layout, offering a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a 12.3-inch continuous dual-screen display, and an electronic pocket gear, and the center display has been upgraded to the MBUX operating system, which supports touch operation. The air conditioning vents are in the shape of an aircraft turbine engine and are decorated with chrome trim, which is also an iconic design.
Entertainment screens have also been added behind the front seats, and there are no changes to the space with navigation, air conditioning, and audio-visual system control.
In terms of power, the new car is no longer equipped with a 4.0 V8 engine, but is equipped with a 3.0T L6 engine matched with a 48V mild hybrid system, with a maximum power of 330kW and a peak torque of 560Nm, matched with a 9AT gearbox and four-wheel drive system, with a 0-100 acceleration time of 5.4 seconds.
For reference, the current G500 is equipped with a 4.0T V8 engine with a maximum power of 310kW and a maximum torque of 610Nm, and a 0-100 acceleration time of 5.9 seconds.
