In July 2018, Chen Lingyu graduated from Anhui University of Technology with a master's degree in analytical chemistry and was admitted to the fourth water plant of Hefei Water Supply Group. Because she was the first graduate student in the factory, Chen Lingyu was very respected by the leaders, and at the same time, she felt the pressure on her shoulders.
As a front-line employee of the water plant, Chen Lingyu paid attention to the details of each operation step during the day, and went back to lie in bed at night, reviewing the day's work content in her mind over and over again like a movie until she firmly remembered it. In less than two months, Chen Lingyu mastered all the work processes of her position and grew rapidly.
There are 20 groups of large sand filters in the water plant, and samples must be sampled and tested in about one month, and three or four meters long metal plates must be inserted into the bottom of the sand tank each time the sample is taken. The weight of the metal plate is quite difficult for girls, so Chen Lingyu and her colleagues carried the metal plate to operate, never feeling tired.
Urban water supply is related to people's livelihood, connecting thousands of households, and requires 24-hour security, so night shifts have become commonplace. When she really started the night shift, Chen Lingyu knew that water quality emergencies at night often occurred. Sometimes the machine fails, resulting in the water purification agent is not added, at this time, it needs to be added manually to ensure that the feeding is in place before the machine resumes work......

In 2020, in the face of the sudden new crown epidemic, Chen Lingyu immediately gave up the Spring Festival vacation, quickly set up an emergency team for party members' water quality testing, arranged team members to rotate, and she was always on the job, working overtime every day to complete 21 factory water, 23 raw water, and 13 backup Chaohu source water. Chen Lingyu said seriously: "The more special the period, the more important it is to ensure the safety of water quality. ”
In the summer of 2021, Hefei was hit by severe floods, which increased water quality risks. Chen Lingyu led the testing team to be stationed at the water plant 24 hours a day, taking the initiative to increase the frequency of stirring tests, simulating the dosage and use of various raw materials, and stirring experiments for 2 hours at a time. After finishing her work, Chen Lingyu found that her waist was so tired that she couldn't straighten up, and her legs hurt badly, and her legs have been a little swollen since then.

Chen Lingyu gave the team this name, which is to use the cleanliness of snowflakes to metaphor the cleanliness of water quality, and the continuous flow of drinking water becomes safe and clean by removing impurities and purifying layer by layer, and then flows into thousands of households, which also means the beautiful vision of "good pass, good test, and good water".
In the work, Chen Lingyu bravely shouldered the heavy burden, she often said to the team members: "The iron must be hard, and the vanguard role of party members must first be reflected in the post, not only to love and dedication, but also to love the 'fine' industry." ”
Chen Lingyu took the colleagues of the laboratory class to take water 50,000 times and tested 200,000 times a year, each test is scientific and standardized, every index is accurate, and the quality of the factory water is among the best, and there are no production accidents and no safety accidents. The water quality of Chaohu Lake is relatively poor, and in order to make safe and qualified drinking water, it needs to go through a more rigorous inspection process and a more complex water production process. As a result, the laboratory team has added another important task - real-time monitoring and reporting of the water quality of Chaohu Lake.
It was the height of summer, and the heat was unbearable, so Chen Lingyu had to take water samples from Chaohu Lake several times a day for testing. In order to ensure the accuracy of the daily data, she is highly accurate in every step and every analysis, observes the changes of algae, and summarizes the water quality treatment of Chaohu Lake through stirring experiments, which provides valuable first-hand information for the water treatment of Chaohu Lake.
At the same time, Chen Lingyu also has to arrange time to be on duty on the shore of Chaohu Lake to observe the real-time changes in the water quality of Chaohu Lake.
