The development status of the aluminum processing industry
Excellent product quality and high cost performance: the relevant quality standards implemented by China's aluminum processing and production meet the needs of domestic and foreign markets, and basically have the international level; the industrial chain is complete, and various aluminum products such as strips, extrusions, forgings, drawing, pipes, wires, and powders can be produced; complete supporting cooperation, low labor costs, obvious advantages of the industrial chain, and strong comprehensive strength.
By the end of 2022, the number of valid patents in China's aluminum processing industry reached 39,783, including 5,710 invention patents, accounting for 14.4%, 30,688 utility model patents, accounting for 77.1%, and 3,385 design patents, accounting for 8.5%.
Current problems and challenges
There is a tendency for investment to overheat in hot areas: according to incomplete statistics, China's battery foil production capacity has been built to about 400,000 tons, and the current production capacity under construction and planned to exceed 1.7 million tons, which will reach more than 7 times China's battery foil output in 2022 after all are put into operation.
In addition, at present, the aluminum extrusion capacity under construction and planned is more than 2 million tons, and there are many new industrial aluminum profile projects such as photovoltaic profiles and automotive lightweight profiles, and the aluminum strip production capacity under construction and planned is about 4.16 million tons, mainly including aluminum foil blanks, automotive plates and other directions.
Relative overcapacity, serious homogenization will lead to vicious competition.
