In order to further understand and grasp the real needs and expectations of the people in need in the community, the Dalong Street Social Work Service Station, together with the Shigangxi Village Committee and the members of the "Spark Walk" Volunteer Service Team, jointly carried out the "Knock on the Door, Warm the People's Heart" home visit activity on April 20, aiming to comprehensively understand the living conditions and needs of the people in need in the form of joint home visits by the five communities, so as to provide them with more accurate services. At the same time, it is also expected that through the active participation of volunteers, the care and warmth of the community will be conveyed and practical help will be brought to the people in need. A total of 8 team members were organized in this activity and successfully visited 20 people in need.
Service training, empowering to move forward
Before the visit, the social worker conducted targeted service training for the volunteers, emphasized the importance of this activity, and explained in detail the key points and skills in the process of visiting, including the requirements for the confidentiality of information of the needy, how to establish a harmonious communication bridge with the needy, and how to accurately record their needs and expectations, so as to ensure that the volunteers can face every needy person with a more confident attitude.

Intimate communication, warm transmission
Subsequently, the social workers and volunteers acted in groups and went to the homes of the needy people to have cordial conversations. Through in-depth conversations, the volunteers learned about their living conditions and health, as well as the difficulties they encountered, from families who are financially strapped due to illness but still maintain an optimistic attitude, and some families who are unable to move due to old age and infirmity and are eager for community care. Volunteers listened patiently, carefully recorded their needs, and gave positive emotional support and encouragement. In addition, the volunteers shared practical life tips to help them cope with life's challenges. Throughout the visit, the needy people showed great gratitude and trust, and with the care of social workers and volunteers, they felt the warmth of the community.
After the visit, some volunteers said that this activity not only allowed us to have sincere exchanges with the people in need, convey the community's deep care for them, but also let us realize their urgent need for community care.
