High-rise fires run up? Run down?
Do not blindly run to the top floor, and if it is confirmed that the fire is on the upper floor, run down the stairwell through the evacuation stairwell.
If the fire layer is below, you can run to the middle layer, which is far away from the fire source and the top layer, preferably the refuge layer.
What do I need to pay attention to when escaping?
1. Touch the doorknob before leaving the room
If the doorknob is very hot and the flame is drilling through the crack in the door, it means that the fire is very strong outside, so don't open the door. At this time, close all doors and windows, cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel, and at the same time block the cracks of the doors with wet clothes and wet towels, etc., and cover the doors and windows to prevent fireworks from penetrating.
Call 119 to tell yourself where you are trapped and wait for help.
2. Don't take the elevator
Once on fire, don't take the elevator, the elevator shaft is a huge ventilation duct, and the fire and smoke will spread quickly. Be sure to escape through a safety exit such as stairs and evacuation routes. When passing through a normally closed fire door, pay attention to closing the door with your hand.
3. Avoid inhaling fumes
Smoke is one of the leading causes of death in fires. When escaping, avoid smoke as much as possible.
The toxic and harmful gases produced by combustion will gradually rise with high temperatures, so the lower the water level, the better the air quality. When escaping from a fire, bend down and walk forward with a low posture to avoid the smoke above, and follow the edge of the wall to make it easy to identify the direction.
