On the afternoon of April 22, the Beijing International Film Festival and the 31st College Student Film Festival "Environmental Image: From Record to Enlightenment" forum was held on the ninth floor of Longfu Cultural and Creative Park, Dongcheng District.
Qian Haiying, curator of Banff Mountain Film Festival and International Ocean Film Festival, Guo Yonghao, producer of the documentary "Snow Leopard and Her Friends", Nan Ji, producer of the film "Snow Leopard", and Lu Zhiyao, director of the Climate Change and Business Sustainability Program of the Beijing Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), were specially invited to focus on "Green Lens: Voices for Environmental Protection with Images" Ecological Glimmer: Gathering the Power of Action".

Chen Gang, deputy dean of the School of Arts and Media of Beijing Normal University and chairman of the "Youth Honor Selection Group" of the 31st College Student Film Festival, said that the diversified integration of film and television is very important to promote the development of new quality productivity of film and television, especially the cross-border exchanges with environmental protection and other diverse issues, which can enhance the influence of image content, and also help inspire young students to pay attention to natural ecology and enhance environmental awareness.
Zhang Li, vice president of SEE Ecological Association, introduced the achievements of SEE Ecological Association in the past 20 years, and emphasized the important role of images in disseminating environmental protection concepts and recording environmental changes, hoping to gather more partners to participate in environmental protection public welfare actions through images, such as recording the beauty of endangered species with images, telling the stories behind environmental protection, and demonstrating the power of images for the whole society to pay attention to ecological and environmental protection public welfare.
Wang Suping, director of the Alxa SEE Ecological Association, introduced the special unit of environmental protection images of the "Rediscovery Project" of the University Student Film Festival, encouraging and supporting young people to convey their concern for environmental protection and sustainable development through the lens, telling environmental protection stories with vivid and vivid video language, and exploring the true meaning of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
The guests at the meeting jointly launched the "Rediscovery Project" environmental protection image collection activity to encourage more young creators to devote themselves to the creation of environmental protection images and jointly contribute to the cause of environmental protection.

Guo Yonghao, producer of the documentary "Snow Leopard and Her Friends", Nan Ji, producer of the film "Snow Leopard", Dr. Lu Zhiyao, Director of Climate Change and Business Sustainability at SEE Foundation, and documentary director Shi Zheyu, discussed in depth how environmental images capture and present environmental issues.
Guo Yonghao discussed the importance of creating natural images. He believes that the creation of natural images requires creators to have scientific knowledge, artistic sensitivity and deep insight. In the future, he plans to promote local training, cooperate with art academies, and strive to transform natural images into actual cultural and creative products, so as to promote the development of industry, moral education and aesthetic education.
Nanji talked about the opportunity for her to invest in the film "Snow Leopard", and emphasized that a good story with sincerity and positive energy is the nirvana to impress the producer. Nanji also shared a small story of the interaction between man and nature that happened in Sanjiangyuan, the filming location of "Snow Leopard", she believes that man and nature have always been symbiotic, we love nature, and nature also heals us.
Dr. Lu Zhiyao shared her experience in Antarctica, she talked about the world is connected, everyone's actions and behaviors will affect our environment, and good video works and good communication can make everyone feel nature, so as to change with action.
Shi Zheyu said that the source of the development of world documentaries is ecological and natural documentaries, and most of the types of documentaries that attracted the world's attention in China as early as the 80s are ecological and natural themes, so it is a world issue to tell the story of environmental protection with images. He encouraged young people to start from the subject matter around them, patiently approach and record the natural ecology, and use modern media technology to create a youthful appearance.

Starting from their own work and careers, the four guests expressed their love for environmental protection and shared many small stories with video recording value for the audience.
Qian Haiying shared her experience in promoting outdoor activities and nature documentaries in China. She cited short films such as "Song of the Whale" as examples of scientists protecting whales and young people respecting nature, as well as public welfare stories of hunting down illegal fishing, to illustrate the power of real stories to inspire audiences to take action for the environment.
Liu Xuesong talks about her approach to combining art with environmental protection, showcasing artworks made from recycled materials. She encourages young people to participate in environmental protection and create products with social value, and believes that the combination of art and environmental protection can promote the concept of sustainable lifestyle and harmonious coexistence.
Chen Chen talks about her journey as a documentary filmmaker and the filming of In Search of the Coral Sea, which sparked her idea of combining marine conservation with public interest. She is currently planning to explore the ancient marine world based on the Forbidden City's "Sea Mistakes" and initiate a conservation project, which has been shortlisted for the Sunshine International Documentary Festival in France.
Yang Xu talked about the emotions between environmental protection enthusiasts, including supporting ecological conservation projects and raising public awareness of ecological issues. He encouraged the students to actively participate in these activities as volunteers, starting with the ecological activities around them and exploring sustainable lifestyles.
