For the "solid-state battery" that has been hotly discussed in the industry recently, JAC Yttrium has started the production and research of related technologies as early as 2021. Different from other automobile brands, JAC Yttrium and Weilan New Energy will jointly develop semi-solid cells based on 4695 large cylindrical shape, which is the first automobile brand in the industry to explicitly apply large cylindrical semi-solid batteries.

Weilan New Energy is a battery enterprise focusing on the R&D and production of semi-solid-state lithium-ion batteries in China, with a number of core patents for solid-state batteries, focusing on low-cost, long-life, high-safety, and high-energy-density semi-solid-state lithium-ion battery products.

It is reported that the two sides will be based on JAC Yttrium for the world's second-generation pure electric platform - DI platform, to jointly develop 4695 large cylindrical semi-solid battery cell application model, the model will use in-situ solid-state technology, cell capacity of 34Ah, energy density up to 300Wh/kg, to achieve the vehicle 600km-1000km endurance level, and plans to achieve mass production in 2025.
