The renovation of old residential areas is an important task to enhance people's sense of gain, and it is also an important part of the implementation of urban renewal actions. In recent years, especially since 2023, Yuyang District has conscientiously implemented the arrangements and arrangements for the "three years" activities, seized the policy dividends of the construction of the "Demonstration Zone for the Transformation of Old Urban Communities" in Shaanxi Province, promoted the transformation of old communities with high quality, solved the "big people's livelihood" with "small incisions", and let the "old" residents live a "new" life.

Recently, the reporter walked into the No. 1 family courtyard of the district party committee located on Fushi Road, and was greeted by a flat and clean courtyard, a neat parking space, and a freshly painted wall...... Looking at these changes in front of them, the "old residents" who live here have a satisfied smile on their faces.

"Our community was built early, the facilities are old, it is a typical old community, after the renovation last year, it has a new look, the entrance of the community is equipped with an automatic identification system, the yard vehicles are parked neatly, and everyone in and out looks good. Zhang Liming, a resident of the community, said.

In Zhang Liming's view, the new look of the community is due to the renovation project of the old community implemented in Yuyang District in recent years. Since the implementation of the upgrading and transformation in August 2023, the exterior walls, roofs, and roads of the community have been comprehensively repaired and renovated.

"In particular, there are some elderly people in their seventies and eighties, who used to go upstairs and downstairs on crutches for more than ten minutes, and they had to rest halfway, and many old people were reluctant to go out in order to avoid trouble. Now not only the elevator is installed, but also the elevator card is also equipped with our residents, so it is convenient and safe for everyone to enter and exit. Zhang Liming said.

From Fushi Road all the way to the south, the reporter found that there are many former "old and dilapidated" communities on both sides of the street. In the family courtyard of the Yuyang District Architectural Planning and Design Institute, some residents have added steps to their outdoor balconies while renovating and upgrading the community, opening up a small outdoor garden, and the delicate and blooming tulips are matched with the wrought iron fence, which is staggered and refreshing. Seeing that the community is becoming new and beautiful, the residents all praised it.

It is understood that the renovation project of the old community in Yuyang District is organized and implemented by each street, and the practical transformation plan is tailored in accordance with the "local conditions, precise policy" and "one district, one policy, one floor", and makes every effort to make up for the shortcomings of facilities and services, and continuously improves the scientific, standardized and professional level of the transformation work.

"After the renovation of the old community was started, under the guidance of the leaders of the city and district, Shangjun Road Street carried out a full coverage of the old community in the jurisdiction, involving a total of 102 old communities built before 2005. By the end of 2023, a total of 28 old communities will be renovated, and 10 old communities will be renovated this year, so as to serve grassroots social governance with high-quality old communities and make people's lives more convenient, comfortable and better. Gao Shenglu, director of the Working Committee of the People's Congress of Shangjun Road Street, said.

Yuyang: "Old" residents live a "new" life

The "transformation" of the No. 1 Family Courtyard of the District Party Committee and the residential building of the Yuyang District Architectural Planning and Design Institute is only a microcosm of Yuyang District's vigorous promotion of the renovation of old residential areas. According to the data, since the start of the renovation of old urban communities in Yuyang District in 2019, 177 old communities have been renovated, benefiting 544 buildings and 17,045 residents. At the same time, the financial method is adopted to make up for the gap in funds, which ensures the renovation standards of the old community, and demonstrates the responsibility of people's livelihood to ensure the bottom line. In 2021, Yuyang District was rated as a "county with active and effective renovation of old communities" by the provincial government, and in 2022 and 2023, it was jointly rated as a "demonstration county for the transformation of old communities" by the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Department of Finance.

"The old residential areas in Yuyang District are large and wide, and the renovation task is heavy. In recent years, Yuyang District has taken the renovation of old residential areas as an important starting point for improving urban functions, promoting urban renewal, and improving people's livelihood and well-being, and has been vigorously and orderly promoted, and the quality of projects has been strictly controlled. Liu Dengfeng, a member of the party group of the Yuyang District Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, introduced that for the old community renovation project in 2024, Yuyang District will continue to hire a design unit with Grade A design qualifications for unified planning and design, and at the same time, the district finance will continue to guarantee and change one into one, fundamentally solve the problems of the people, and strive to complete the renovation tasks of 34 old communities included in the provincial plan within the year, so that the 'old' residents living in the old communities can also enjoy the 'new' life.
