On April 22, in a "doctor's field" in Laozhai Village, Tongsi Town, Fushun County, more than 10 villagers were displaying 12 rice varieties that won the "Daoxiang Cup" in Sichuan Province according to the pattern of 20 cm wide and 18 cm back. Not far away, in another "doctor's field", 14 new rice varieties are selected and transplanted here. It is expected that in mid-August, the town will test the yield of these rices, and select and aggregate rice with excellent traits such as high yield, disease resistance, and high quality for promotion.
The high yield of rice is inseparable from the excellent variety. "For example, there is a 'Daoxiang Cup' award-winning variety Yixiangyou 215, which is characterized by high yield of twenty or thirty catties more than the average rice yield per mu, and high regeneration ability, strong resistance to diseases and pests, and good taste. He Jingjing, director of the agricultural center of Tongsi Town, introduced that last year, the town also carried out such a variety display, and this year it selected several varieties with good results and carried out large-scale transplanting and expansion, "such a demonstration field, the current town area of 25,000 acres." ”
At the edge of the paddy field, Wei Piwei, a field technical expert and a doctor from Sichuan University of Light Chemical Technology, is filling in the identification plates for 14 new rice varieties that have been selected and transplanted. "These new varieties are mainly divided into two categories, one is people's rations, and the other is glutinous rice for winemaking. Wei Piwei told reporters that good wine needs to be brewed from good rice, and the quality of glutinous rice is very critical.
Tongsi Town is located in an important position of Longguanshan Rice Sorghum Modern Agricultural Park in Fushun County, and is the core area of double regenerated rice sorghum. Over the years, the town attaches great importance to the experimental demonstration and seedling breeding of new rice varieties, and has successively built the 100-acre Pinbi demonstration field of Longping Hi-Tech in Xihu Village, the doctoral experimental field in Laozhai Village and the regenerative rice innovation base of the Lizhai Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Lizhai Village by continuously deepening the cooperation with scientific research institutions such as Longping Hi-Tech, the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Sichuan University of Light Chemical Technology. In addition, the town insists on carrying out product ratio tests and demonstration planting activities every year, and vigorously promotes the application of high-quality varieties with strong adaptability, abundant yield and low heavy metal content, so as to further improve the yield and quality of rice.
This year is the fourth year of the trial planting of "Doctor's Field" in Laozhai Village, and after many years of trial experiments, it has been fruitful. "According to last year's data, it is expected that there are three or four varieties of this year, with a single-season production capacity of 720 kilograms, plus regenerative rice, the total production capacity per mu will exceed 1,100 kilograms. Wei Piwei introduced, these new varieties of regenerative rice, in addition to the best varieties selected the year before and last year, this year and three new varieties have been added, the future is mainly to observe the regeneration ability of these new varieties after harvesting rice piles to re-emerge seedlings and long ears.
