author:Ecological Ya'an

On April 22, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the 155th anniversary of the scientific discovery of giant pandas International Youth Giant Panda Tracing Tour was held in Baoxing County, our city. Chinese and foreign giant panda experts and scholars, international youth, business representatives, and media representatives from 10 countries gathered together in the green mountains and green waters to trace the origin of giant panda culture, feel the beauty of Baoxing's natural and cultural affairs, discuss panda protection and cultural communication, and promote the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.

What are the views of the experts and guests who participated in this event on further telling the story of Sino-French friendship, the story of the development of ecological civilization, and the dissemination of giant panda culture? The reporter of this newspaper has collected and sorted out the speeches or interviews of some of the experts and guests.

Yu Yunquan, Deputy Director General of CIPG:

Gather greater consensus on international cultural exchanges and cooperation

The giant panda has attracted countless fans and made the world cute with its cute and cute image, and is China's "national treasure" friendship envoy, and it is also a precious cultural symbol shared by all mankind. To protect these cute elves and continue the "panda love" of friendship between China and foreign countries, it is necessary for all walks of life at home and abroad to work together to gather a greater consensus on international cultural exchanges and cooperation with giant pandas as the carrier. Tell the story of the giant panda to the world through various forms, so that more people can understand and understand China through the giant panda, so that China can get closer to the people of the world through the giant panda, expand people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries, and promote people-to-people ties between all countries.

The panda is a "genius messenger" of peace and friendship. As an important cultural link for people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries, the giant panda has built a bridge between the hearts of the people and the rest of the world. For example, when "Xiangxiang" and "Fubao" returned to their hometowns, countless people wept to see them off; for example, when the first giant panda born in France, "Dream Fulfillment", returned home in July last year, the wife of the French president went to the airport to see them off. To this day, the French media and the public are still paying attention to the life of "Dream Fulfillment" in China, and the peace and friendship that originated with the giant panda will be left in France forever.

Pandas are the "treasure of life" in the dialogue between civilizations. Since its scientific discovery, the giant panda has attracted the attention and love of people around the world with its unique appearance and charm, and has become a unique symbol of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Telling Chinese stories and conveying the Chinese spirit through giant pandas is inseparable from the literary expression that is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and it is also inseparable from building more platforms for dialogue between giant panda civilizations.

Pandas are the "natural bond" of young people. It is necessary to protect and tell the story of the giant panda well, and give full play to the spirit of exploration and innovation of young people. In his reply to foreign youth representatives of the "International Youth Leaders Dialogue" program, General Secretary Xi Jinping "encouraged Chinese and foreign young people to enhance understanding and grow together through mutual learning, and contribute their youth strength to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind." This time, 14 young people from different countries started a journey to trace the origin of giant pandas, learn about the journey of giant pandas from China to the world, and feel the hard work of the Chinese people to protect this "living fossil".

I look forward to further strengthening cooperation with Sichuan Province and Ya'an City through this event, doing more to promote the world's understanding of giant panda culture, and creating a golden business card of giant pandas together.

Meng Man, Vice Chairman of the All-China Women's Federation, Member of the Party Committee of the Central University for Nationalities, and Professor of the School of History and Culture:

Giant panda culture is a combination of science and humanities

The word "Baoxing" makes me think of Wuhua Tianbao for the first time, outstanding people, this is my first time to Baoxing, and I found that this is indeed the case after coming. And long before this trip, I knew that there was a red culture represented by the Red Army's Long March, and a green culture represented by giant pandas and golden monkeys.

Giant panda culture is a combination of science and humanities. The first scientific discovery of giant pandas and the current breeding and treatment of giant pandas are inseparable from the spirit of science. And more people began to come into contact with giant pandas, all from the song "Panda Mimi" in the 80s of the last century. At that time, we knew that helping the giant panda is helping ourselves, and we live in harmony with the giant panda in this world.

So, why does the giant panda make the whole world like it? Because it represents the spirit of harmony, peace, harmony, and harmony. With the blessing of science and humanistic spirit, I believe that Baoxing and the giant pandas, China and the world will move towards a better future. Today, the journey of the giant panda, started by the French naturalist Armand David, is of great significance to be passed down in this form and to the world today. Because it carries too many elements of "beauty", and "beauty" is a common feature that the whole world can have, so I believe that with such a spirit of beauty and beauty, we will achieve a situation of great harmony in the world.

As for Ya'an to build an important destination for giant panda cultural tourism in the world, I think we can focus more on the development of giant panda culture. Because domestic tourists have become more aware of what they need, and are gradually moving from big cities and central cities to the countryside and countryside, to places with richer and more colorful cultures.

For Ya'an and Baoxing, what needs to be done now is to protect and polish these cultural symbols, so that they exude a unique color enough to attract more people.

Erik Solheim, former UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UNEP:

The giant panda is the epitome of China's achievements in protecting endangered wildlife

In the 80s, there were about 1,100 giant pandas in the wild in China, and today it has grown to nearly 1,900. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has changed the panda's threat status from "endangered" to "vulnerable", a huge step forward thanks to the concerted efforts of Sichuan and other neighbouring provinces.

The giant panda is a microcosm of China's achievements in protecting endangered wildlife. In recent years, the number of Tibetan antelopes in China and the snow leopard in western China have also increased, which is a good thing. China is now building national parks that are larger than any other country in the world, and conservation efforts are more efficient than in other parts of the world.

On the other hand, it is necessary to strengthen international exchanges for the joint protection of wild animals, for example, in order to protect the giant panda, China and France have a lot of practical cooperation in the breeding and protection of giant pandas, and have achieved good results. This fully proves that sufficient exchanges between countries around the world can enable us to go faster and further in wildlife conservation.

The event brought together young people from all over the world to discuss China's progress and achievements, and the international youth were able to share stories from the world with China, and at the same time share China's experience with the world. I would like to thank the organizers for inviting me to participate in this event, and I hope to have the opportunity to visit the Giant Panda International Cultural Exchange Center in Baoxing in the future to experience the beautiful scenery of Sichuan and see the cute giant pandas.

Che Mengzhu, French journalist of the "Sino-French Dialogue" of the Center for European and African Studies of CIPG and international youth representative:

Feel the true story of the harmonious coexistence between humans and giant pandas

Last year, also in this bright spring season, I came to beautiful Ya'an for the first time.

Chinese friends often say that "once born, twice ripe". After a year, I feel like coming home to the "hometown of the giant panda" again. The hospitality of the people of Baoxing made me feel more cordial and deeply in love with this small city, and I had the urge to stay.

As the representative of this International Youth Giant Panda Origin Tour, I believe that all international young people will be like me, and feel the true story of Baoxing's good ecological environment, simple folk customs, and harmonious coexistence between humans and giant pandas, and start a beautiful life journey here.

As a Frenchman, I am extremely proud to be here today at the Giant Panda International Cultural Exchange Center. Because 155 years ago, it was the French naturalist Armand David who scientifically discovered the giant panda here, and since then a beautiful species in the world has gone from Baoxing to the world.

The giant panda is a national treasure of China and one of the most popular animals in the world. They are cute and cute-looking, and have become messengers of friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and the giant panda has played a very important role in the long history of Sino-French exchanges, which has deepened the friendship between the two peoples. As the younger generation, we should cherish this special friendship more and make new contributions to Sino-French exchanges and mutual learning.

As an international communication practitioner, I am well aware of my responsibilities and hope that more people can take action and do their best to tell the story of the giant panda and China's ecological civilization.

Lin Zixuan, President of Hong Kong Guangxi General Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Hong Kong Lok Xuan Group:

Polishing the golden signboard of "Panda's Hometown" more brightly

This is my first time in Baoxing, and after coming here, I learned that Baoxing and the local people have made a lot of sacrifices and contributions to the protection of giant pandas, and have created a good living environment for the national treasure giant pandas. When the story of the harmonious coexistence of the people of Baoxing and the giant panda has become a model for the construction of ecological civilization in the mainland, our Hong Kong business delegation, composed of 10 enterprises and institutions, also saw the potential and opportunities for win-win ecological economic development in Baoxing.

The second task is to discuss and dock, each of our entrepreneur representatives is to come with full sincerity, and is willing to promote the "Panda Hometown" out of Sichuan and to the world, to pay wisdom and efforts. I believe this event will be a very good start.

As the President of the Hong Kong Guangxi General Chamber of Commerce, over the years, I have always played the role of a bridge and link between Hong Kong compatriots and the Mainland.

More understanding and recognition require more effective interconnection with each other, just like this event, we gathered in Baoxing from all over the world, and on the basis of communication, understanding and mutual recognition, we will establish better mutual trust and promote more effective cooperation. With this contact and meeting, we will introduce more Hong Kong business people to Po Hing to inspect investment and carry out business activities, and everyone will work together to polish the golden signboard of "Panda's Hometown" even brighter.

We Chinese often say: Those who are like-minded do not take mountains and seas as far. I hope we can reach a consensus here, make a good long-cherished wish, and work together to create a better tomorrow for the "Panda Hometown".

Ma Li, Planning Director of the Sino-French Dialogue of the Center for Europe and Africa of CIPG:

Relying on the giant panda culture to do a good job in international communication

My relationship with Ya'an began in 2012 when Ya'an launched a promotion activity in Beijing, and the relevant person in charge of the Propaganda Department of the Ya'an Municipal Party Committee invited me to Ya'an to have a look. During the 2013 National People's Congress and the National People's Congress, the Sichuan delegation from Ya'an extended another invitation to me.

At the beginning of May of the same year, I came to Ya'an for the first time and filmed a video entitled "Tibetan Tea", visiting many porters who had passed their eighties, leaving behind very valuable information. It was also from then on that I developed a deep affection for Ya'an, a relationship that will not change or be forgotten even after I leave.

Since then, I have come to Ya'an every two or three years, and every time I come here, I have a new feeling and experience. For example, last year, we did a special issue of "Sino-French Dialogue" in Ya'an, entitled "Common Home", which tells the story of the harmonious coexistence between giant pandas and humans here from the perspective of environmental protection and special biological protection. At that time, our French reporter Che Mengzhu also interviewed Gao Fuhua, a famous "panda reporter" in Ya'an.

Last year, also in Ya'an, we also made a video entitled "Panda's Hometown Search", which was filmed in Baoxing. The video was posted on the French Facebook account of China Today, and on the Facebook and Twitter accounts of Franco-Chinese Dialogue, and the results were unexpectedly good, with 2.194 million views and 1.081 million views, and it is still the top video we have made in recent years.

What is particularly interesting is that the vast majority of the messages from many foreign netizens expressed envy and blessings, which can be summed up as a special liking for the giant panda species, praising us for doing a good job in ecological protection and providing a good living home for the giant panda. I believe that there is still a lot of room for improvement in Ya'an's international communication work, and it is necessary to have the idea of "great external propaganda". Taking the giant panda as an example, the giant panda has a high level of empathy among people of different countries and colors around the world, believing that it is round and cute, symbolizing warmth and peace.

In March this year, the establishment of the Ya'an International Communication Center, as well as the launch of the International Communication Practice Base of the Western Europe and Africa Communication Center of CIPG, are a good start for the communication between the upper and lower levels.
