Embracer Group announced yesterday that its Board of Directors has agreed to split the Group into three "market-leading" gaming and entertainment companies: Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain & Friends and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends. The three new spin-offs are all independent listed companies.
The details of each company are as follows:
1. Asmodee: The world's leading publisher and distributor of tabletop games, with 23 wholly-owned studios and more than 300 game IPs;
2. Coffee Stain & Friends: A diversified gaming company focused on indie games, A/2A games, and free-to-play and real-time service games for PC, console, and mobile platforms, with high long-term revenue.
3. Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends: A creative company that develops and publishes triple-A games for PC and console platforms, including Crystal Dynamics, War Horse Studios, Vertigo, Dambuster and other game studios, as well as owners of IP such as The Lord of the Rings, Tomb Raider, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Metro.
Embracer said in the announcement that this move will allow the three new companies to better focus on their core strategies and create more differentiated and unique value for the group's existing and new shareholders.
