On April 16, Milan Design Week 2024 opened in Milan, Italy, bringing together the world's top design concepts and ideas. The "Beyond BLUE: AI-enhanced Denim fashion and product design from China and Italy" design exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "Beyond Blue") jointly launched by Junan Denim Design City and Milanese design company Van Bio officially opened the SHOW.

According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to convey to the world that denim is not limited to traditional blue, but also can show the new look of denim's diversity, fashion and personality through innovative design concepts and advanced production technology. These works are not only unique in design, but also make bold innovative attempts in fabrics, craftsmanship and concepts, and adopt the current hot technology - artificial intelligence-assisted design, so that Junan An denim can appear on the international stage with a new attitude.

The event was crowded with designers and fashionistas from Spain, Germany, Italy, Iran, India and other countries to talk about denim design concepts and new technologies. After seeing the works in the exhibition, they said that such denim designs were very novel, and that they had more ideas and inspiration for the "denim+" design.
At the exhibition, there was also an overseas fan of Bruce Lee, who wore a kung fu denim suit and performed a kung fu show for everyone. "The way to combine cowboy elements with kung fu culture is very novel, and as a Bruce Lee fan, I'm excited to see that kung fu culture can become more modern and youthful in this way. The fan said.

The models in the exhibition are dressed in a variety of denim costumes, and Chinese cultural elements such as kung fu, bamboo weaving, lion dancing, and puppet opera are very eye-catching, and these clothing works are all made by Chinese designers.

At the same time, the collaboration between denim and industrial design is also featured in this exhibition, with VR HAT and Device TOP shawls taking center stage. In the design process, designers skillfully use AI to create inspiration, and with the blessing of AI, the design can boldly combine VR concepts with denim elements, allowing different cultures to collide ideas.
VR Hat combines VR glasses with a stylish denim hat. VR glasses themselves have a certain weight, hanging on the neck is easy to produce additional load on the neck, the designer designed a hat, the wearer can put the glasses on the hat, the load is evenly distributed, suitable for long-term wear. The hat part is made of denim, which ensures both practicality and fashion.

The Device TOP shawl is inspired by the Chinese cloud shoulder. The cloud shoulders have been reinvented by the designers to incorporate Tencel denim elements and use geometric shapes to achieve a "mesh" structure (multiple rigid parts forming a soft monolithic structure) to become a fashionable and functional garment that can fit into a GoPro camera. The wearer does not need to hold the camera in hand at all times, and the stability of the lens can be maintained with the support of the body.

In these products, the collaboration between designers and artificial intelligence gives us a glimpse into the future of life, catering to the market's demand for both convenience and fashion.
This exhibition is the first time that Chinese denim elements have appeared at an international exhibition in recent years, and it is also an attempt to deeply integrate traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Eastern culture and Western design concepts, and a reflection on denim fashion and its possible development driven by the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence.
