In fact, the subgrade engineering of the Shantou south to Shantou section of the earthwork and stone work, bridge engineering, etc. have been completed, and the key control project of the whole line - Shantou Bay Submarine Tunnel is currently in the sea mine section, shield section construction, it is planned to be completed by the end of March next year, which also means that the high-speed railway from Shantou south to Shantou will not be able to penetrate the whole line until that time.

Sichuan-Qingdao Railway

In order to meet the transportation demand along the line, the freight function of the Baoshan-Puyi section has been opened in advance, but the passenger opening of the entire Baorui section is affected by the Gaoligongshan Tunnel, and it will still have to wait for several years. Due to the difficulty of the tunnel, only about half of the tunneling has been completed in eight years, and the breakthrough is expected to take several more years and there are uncertainties, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. This also means that the Baorui section will not be completed until around 2028.

Yantai-Xiyi Intercity Railway River Crossing Tunnel Scheme

In order to speed up the start of the project, the high-speed railway's cross-river passage is planned to adopt a more mature tunnel scheme, so that the problem of the Yanyi high-speed railway's cross-river passage and the start of construction as soon as possible can be solved at the same time.

The cross-river tunnel is planned to enter the ground from the south side of Sunshine Avenue in Jingjiang City, cross the Yangtze River to the south, avoid the scouring groove, and go ashore on the west side of the Yangtze River Wharf of COFCO Trading Jiangsu Co., Ltd. on the south bank of the Yangtze River, and finally exit the ground on the south side of Chengzhang Road.

At present, the high-speed rail cross-river tunnel section has entered the stage of preparation and review of the relevant preconditions for preliminary design approval, and the project is expected to start construction this year.
