Before Blinken's visit to China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made it clear that it was not allowed to sow discord between China and Russia and stop arming Taiwan

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit China from April 24 to 26 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi. On the eve of Blinken's visit to China, Chinese Foreign Ministry officials mentioned that they would clarify their positions and make demands on Taiwan, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the South China Sea and other issues.

Speaking of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, China pointed out that the US needs to earnestly reflect on its responsibilities in the Ukraine crisis, refrain from doing things that add fuel to the fire and take advantage of the opportunity to make profits, and refrain from attacking and smearing the normal state-to-state relations between China and Russia, inciting bloc confrontation, and smearing and slandering China and shifting the blame. The US should also immediately stop imposing unilateral sanctions on Chinese companies and individuals. The Ukraine issue is not an issue between China and the United States, and the United States should not turn it into a problem between China and the United States.

Recently, the US side has frequently stirred up Sino-Russian relations on various important occasions or meetings, threatening China not to provide military assistance and material support to Russia, otherwise it will take a series of measures to impose sanctions. During the G7 Foreign Ministers' Summit, Blinken threatened China at a press conference not to get close to Russia. He said that China cannot express its willingness to actively develop relations with Europe while at the same time sponsoring the biggest security threat facing Europe after the Cold War. In addition, during her visit to China, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen also threatened China not to support Russia. But the U.S. government also acknowledged that it does not have any conclusive evidence that China has provided military support to Russia.

The US Government's series of remarks and so on are enough to show that Washington is vainly trying to intimidate China, force China to alienate Russia, and interfere with normal cooperation between China and Russia without a factual basis. The US obviously does not attach importance to China's consistent assertion that China-Russia cooperation is not aimed at any third party, nor is it subject to interference or coercion by any third party. The hegemonic logic of "long-arm jurisdiction" is entirely based on the consideration of its own strategic interests, and attempts to use China's relationship with Europe as a bargaining chip to prevent China and Russia from maintaining a cooperative partnership. Therefore, before Blinken's visit to China, it is very necessary for China to reiterate its position and principles on China-Russia relations, and it is also a warning to the US side to interfere. It is hoped that the US side will listen to China's concerns and properly handle China-US relations.

In addition to expressing its stance on Sino-Russian relations, the Chinese side also pointed out that Taiwan is a part of China and the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair. "Taiwan independence" and peace in the Taiwan Strait are incompatible. China firmly opposes the recent erroneous words and deeds of the US on the Taiwan issue, and urges the US side to abide by the one-China and China-US joint communiqués, put into action President Biden's statement that he does not support "Taiwan independence", oppose "Taiwan independence", stop arming Taiwan, stop interfering in China's internal affairs, and support China's peaceful reunification.

On the Taiwan issue, Biden has made a high-level commitment to the Chinese side not to support "Taiwan independence", but the actual situation is contrary to this commitment, and the US government has been adopting a policy of "strategic ambiguity" in an attempt to achieve "peaceful separatism". Over the past period of time, the United States has continuously strengthened its "official ties" with Taiwan, sold military weapons to Taiwan, and sent politicians to visit Taiwan.

In addition, the United States has sought support from the international community to support Taiwan's participation in international organizations, including the World Health Assembly and the World Health Organization. However, Taiwan's handling of foreign relations must be based on the one-China principle. Therefore, it is understandable that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew a red line on the Taiwan issue before Blinken's visit to China.

In addition to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Taiwan issue, China's focus also includes economy, trade, science and technology, and the South China Sea issue. According to the head of the Department of North America and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China focused on five major goals for Blinken's visit, including establishing correct understanding, strengthening dialogue, effectively managing differences, promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and jointly shouldering responsibilities as major countries. It is hoped that the US will look at China's development in an objective manner and stop abusing its national power to suppress and contain China.
