What are the dangers of tick bites? Xing Fei, director of the Department of Dermatology, said that tick bites are painless when they suck blood. After being bitten by a tick, most people will have mild dermatitis symptoms, but a very small number of people with allergies will have paralysis symptoms, which can manifest as acute paralysis and even respiratory failure. The most common should be viral infectious diseases, such as hantavirus. In addition, the most common is a rickettsial virus infection. The two most severe symptoms are fever, encephalitis, neurological damage, visceral damage, and the most severe can be hemorrhagic lesions, causing failure of internal organs.
It should be reminded that once a tick bite is found and burrows into the skin, you can apply alcohol to the tick to relax or die on the tick's head, and then use pointed tweezers to take out the tick, do not pull hard, so as not to hurt the skin. After the ticks are removed, they are disinfected locally with iodine or alcohol. Director Xing Fei introduced that if you are bitten by a tick, it will suck up all the blood and will not fall off. Doctors suggest that when entering the grass, woods and other environments where ticks mainly live, everyone should take good precautions, wear light-colored clothes, so that the ticks attached to the body have nothing to hide, do not dry clothes on the grass and trees to prevent ticks from attaching, and carefully check before entering the room to prevent ticks from being brought home through clothes or pets. Director Xing Fei suggested that citizens can wear long-sleeved clothes and pants, masks and hats. Chemical protection is also common, and some insect repellent drugs can be used, such as mosquito medicine that often fights mosquitoes at home, or mosquito repellent oil can be used.
