Thunderstorms and clever use of contradictions to clear the clouds and mist and interpret the characters and understand human nature

author:Taoli Dengzhou

In order to create more opportunities for all teachers to learn from each other, communicate and improve, with the strong support of the school committee and the effective organization of the Academic Affairs Office, Hallym School will hold teacher competitions every semester to help teachers show their teaching style and improve their teaching skills. This semester, from April 2nd --- April 18th, Hallym School held a competition for young teachers in the whole school, and a total of 42 teachers participated in the competition.

According to the teaching guiding ideology of our school--- "the student's things are done by the students, and the teacher's things are done by the teacher", using the problem guidance method, repeated scrutiny, and many classic classrooms have emerged. Speaking of Chinese classes, I have to mention "Thunderstorm" by Mr. Kong Yujin, a teacher in Class 12 of the first year of high school, which mainly has the following highlights:

First, the introduction is fascinating.

"From the beginning of love to the vicissitudes of life, the ups and downs of thirty years seem to have been filtered into dullness by time. Unusually familiar room furnishings, no longer young former lovers. The thunderstorm in the afternoon staggered time and space, and made the emotions flutter. A muffled thunder makes the beginning of a story, and a rainstorm freezes a tragic ending. Today, let's walk into "Thunderstorm" (excerpt), take a look at the story of that afternoon, and feel the ugliness and goodness of human nature. "Mr. Kong's concise and concise language and subdued voice seem to bring us to the scene of "Thunderstorm" all of a sudden.

Second, the learning objectives should be clear and specific, closely related to the tasks of the textbook units.

The teaching objectives and learning tasks of this lesson are closely related to the textual characteristics of drama--contradictions, which reflect the characteristics of Chinese subjects. The learning activities mainly guide students to form a certain understanding of the characters of Lu Shiping, Zhou Puyuan, Zhou Dahai and other characters in the process of sorting out contradictions and conflicts, and to experience their spirit of resistance from Lu Dahai and others, which reflects the emotional value education of language, which is also one of the core qualities of our Chinese teaching. The learning objectives correspond to the tasks of the textbook units, which are reasonable in difficulty and easy to match, interlocking, from shallow to deep, in line with the cognitive logic of students, so that students of different levels have their own gains in this lesson.

Third, the classroom follows the classroom concept of "the student's work, the student's work, the teacher's work, and the teacher's doing".

The teacher only acts as a guide throughout the lesson, and the teacher only asks questions in each session, and then asks students to think first and then answer or act. Students combine the text to find the answer from the relevant sentences, and the teacher asks the student to do a brief analysis when answering. This not only cultivates students' textual awareness, but also trains students' analytical and linguistic organization skills. In this process, the teacher only guides, supplements and comments, and truly makes the students the protagonists of the class.

Fourth, the melodrama is the icing on the cake for this lesson.

The excerpts of "Thunderstorm" "Zhou Puyuan and Lu Shiping meet on a narrow road" and "Lu Dahai and Zhou Puyuan face each other" are two "highlights" that fully show the inner world of the characters, they better show the character characteristics of the characters and the theme of this article. Zhou Puyuan's coldness, hypocrisy, and selfishness, Lu Shiping's kindness, tenacity, and contradictions, and Lu Dahai's bravery, jealousy, hatred, and lack of strategy are all vividly performed by these actors. Especially the actors of Lu Shiping and Zhou Puyuan, Lu Shiping's hoarse voice shouted out the anger in her heart, and Zhou Puyuan's words that sounded like affection when facing Lu Shiping made us realize his hypocrisy. This play also gives us an understanding of the characteristics of drama that are different from other stage plays through conflicts, lines and stage descriptions. This drama also brought the lesson to a climax.

Fifth, the students were highly engaged throughout the lesson.

Whether it was answering questions or group discussions, all students were able to actively participate in each session, fully discuss, raise their hands enthusiastically, and answer questions in Mandarin with loud voices. Teachers can also pay attention to students with different learning situations. When asking questions, students in every area of the classroom are covered and more students are given the opportunity to show, which greatly stimulates the enthusiasm of the students, especially those who are slow to accept, and I believe that what they left in this class is the joy of harvest and the warmth of being appreciated.

In general, the whole lesson has clear goals, interlocking, active classroom atmosphere, and good classroom results. It would be even more perfect if students could read the lines of "Thunderstorm" and appreciate its "extraneous meaning" from it. Because dramatic conflict and dramatic language are the two basic elements of drama, and the lines of "Thunderstorm" have always been praised, and the language of the characters in the play often has "extraverbal meanings", that is, subtexts, such as "After thirty years of hard work, you still found here" The implication is that I have long known that as long as you live, you will definitely find this, and it is true. These subtexts can better help us understand the characters and promote the development of the storyline, and we should read them well to feel the charm of the dramatic language.

Mr. Kong's lesson made us deeply feel the importance of returning the classroom to the students, and I hope that we will be brave enough to let go and be just the right "idler" in our future teaching work. (Li Qingping)
