Zhangzhou, Southeast Network, April 23 (Reporter Lu Lijuan Correspondent Cai Minglan Text/Picture) On the morning of April 23, the 2024 series of activities of the "Santai Scholars" National Reading Alliance in Changtai District was launched in the Changtai District Cultural and Sports Center.
The event focused on the theme of "Santai Scholarly Fragrance and Fujian People Still Reading", highlighted the characteristics of "Chongwen Changtai", and launched the "Five Ones" characteristic market of the National Reading Festival (i.e., a book market, a cultural and creative market, a book exchange market, a happy reading market, and an interactive market), which comprehensively demonstrated the strong atmosphere of Zhangzhou's national reading and the effectiveness of the construction of scholarly Changtai.
Changtai Library, Xinhua Bookstore and Postal Company jointly held book promotion activities to provide the largest book discount of the year to serve the public. A total of 20 booths were set up on site, mainly exhibiting and selling intangible cultural heritage products such as paper-cutting with the theme of "Santai Scholarly" and rubbing of woodblock New Year paintings. At the same time, 6 book exchange booths were set up, and students brought idle books from home to the site for exchange. An exclusive area for the Fan Deng Reading Growth Camp was also arranged at the site, and a comfortable and pleasant reading environment was created by organizing the addition of coffee, tea and other categories of the book bar culture, so that the public could feel the ease and comfort of reading when participating in the activities. A variety of interactive activities such as writers signing and selling books, bookmark painting design, copying copybooks, and lantern riddle quizzes were also carried out, allowing the participants to "immerse" themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
A new batch of "Guangming Book Bars" in Changtai was also awarded at the scene, the "Top Ten Reading Stars" in Changtai District in 2023 were announced and awarded, and a batch of books was donated by Strait Publishing and Distribution Group.
In recent years, Changtai has adhered to the cultural and plastic brigade and the tourism to highlight the global linkage and national interaction. On the day of the event, the 4th All-for-One Tourism Development Conference and the "Ancient Rhyme Changtai, Self-Traveling" Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival were also held, relying on the three-level linkage of the New Era Civilization Practice Center to organize the "1+9+N" theme reading activities, as well as the theme lecture of "Southern Fujian Farming and Reading Culture", the Champion Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, the "Reading and Enjoying the New Era, the Fragrance of Books Nourishing the Soul" Scholarly Fragrance to Help the Disabled, the "Sister Xiaoya Story Meeting" into the Farmhouse Bookstore, and the "Wenchang Changtai" General History Exhibition and a series of supporting sub-activities, so that the masses can enjoy a cultural and tourism feast at their doorstep.
It is understood that in Fujian, there are three places with the word "Tai" in the place name, namely Yongtai County of Fuzhou City, Changtai District of Zhangzhou, and Taining County of Sanming City. These three places also have a common feature, they are all the hometowns of champions, there are many talents in history, and there is a strong cultural atmosphere of cultivation and reading. To this end, the Propaganda Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee took the lead in organizing the three places to carry out the "Santai Scholarly" National Reading Alliance activity at the same time, aiming to strengthen the excavation, promotion and dissemination of the historical inheritance of the champion culture and the connotation of the times, innovate and develop the carrier of the "Scholarly Eight Fujian" national reading activities, and create a strong atmosphere of loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading.
