At the event, Sichuan Provincial Library selected 10 outstanding readers of the year based on the loan data in 2023. According to the report, among the registered readers of the Sichuan Provincial Library, the oldest is 94 years old and the youngest is 2 years old, covering all ages. According to the statistics of the Sichuan Provincial Library, "The World", "The Biography of Yang Jiang: Memorial Edition", "Half-Hour Comic Tang Poems", "The Moon and Sixpence" and "Skin" are among the top five books borrowed in the year.

Through combing the report, it is found that in 2023, the total collection of literature in Sichuan Provincial Library will be 6.026 million volumes (pieces), with 136,000 new volumes, 66,600 electronic journals, 2.5725 million electronic books, 2.274 million hours of audio and video resources, and a total of 195 free and open digital resource databases. The Sichuan Provincial Library received 1,414,000 readers, borrowed 623,000 paper documents, and visited the digital resource platform 2,920,700 times.
From the perspective of the whole province, in 2023, there will be 209 public libraries in the province, 286 24-hour borrowing service points, and 1,264 new reading spaces. The total collection of paper literature reached 61,406,000 volumes, with 1,245,000 new volumes, 64,141,000 electronic books, 15,900 terabytes of digital resources, and 1,621 digital resource databases. The province's libraries received 33.343 million readers, with a total of 6.517 million registered borrowers, 23.412 million books borrowed and more than 68.23 million digital resources visited.
In the future, the province's libraries will continue to promote the innovative development and creative transformation of excellent traditional culture, further promote national reading, continue to promote the "two-way running" between libraries and readers, continuously innovate service methods, further improve service quality, and actively build a one-stop service system for smart libraries.

The Sichuan Provincial Library's series of activities with the theme of "Traveling with Ancient Books in Sichuan" will combine Sichuan's humanities, geography, history, customs, skills, etc., to deeply explore the value of ancient books in a variety of forms of expression, and lead the public to understand, perceive and inherit the wisdom in ancient books. According to Zhong Wen, deputy director of the Department of Ancient Books of the Sichuan Provincial Library, the event will gradually launch the collection of articles, videos, recitations and ancient book research activities, leading everyone to encounter Sichuan in the classics, feel and inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
The "Zhixing Youth, Scholarly Summer" volunteer activity jointly launched by the Sichuan Provincial Library, the Sichuan Provincial University Graphic Work Committee, and the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League will organize college students from more than 100 colleges and universities in the province to take advantage of the opportunity to return to their hometowns during the summer vacation to dozens of public libraries in various cities (prefectures) to carry out various forms of volunteer service activities such as cultural dissemination, ancient book protection, and reading promotion, so as to contribute to the construction of "Scholarly Sichuan".
