Recently, the "Jiaolong Goes to Sea" Digital Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Exhibition was unveiled in Hongqiao Nanfeng City. The exhibition is curated by Wang Yamin, former executive vice president, former chief curator and researcher of the Palace Museum. The Labor Daily reporter learned that the digital intangible cultural heritage art exhibition presented a feast of national style aesthetics in a unique form through 360° immersive film domain, naked-eye 3D, generative artificial intelligence AIGC and other technologies.

The dragon is a prominent spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation. The history of the Chinese dragon "going to sea" is closely related to the Maritime Silk Road, which was formed in the Qin and Han dynasties, flourished in the Tang and Song dynasties, and flourished in the Song and Yuan dynasties. The exhibition integrates digital light and shadow with intangible cultural heritage works, narrating the prosperous history and legend of China's cultural and commercial exchanges since ancient times. At the same time, the young generation of intangible cultural heritage inheritors from Quanzhou, the starting point of the Song and Yuan Maritime Silk Roads and the world's intangible cultural heritage capital, brought their innovative works to Shanghai, which is also an important node city of the Maritime Silk Road, to convey the spirit of harmony and integration of Chinese culture to the world in inheritance and innovation.

In order to showcase China's extensive and profound intangible cultural heritage and artistic achievements, during the exhibition, five exhibition areas, "Flying Dragon in the Sky", "Wenlong Carving Heart", "Dragon Soaring in the Four Seas", "Descendants of the Dragon" and "Dragons are Spirits", nine groups of works will show the thousand-year-old legend and national style aesthetics of the dragon and the Maritime Silk Road.

Stepping into the era of AI, when Dragon and intangible cultural heritage meet cutting-edge digital technology, unprecedented creation and experience have been generated. Through AIGC, naked-eye 3D, AI motion capture, somatosensory particle interaction, 360-degree immersive film and other technical means, the exhibition innovatively expresses dragon culture, draws dragon stories with digital technology, inherits dragon art from intangible cultural heritage, and shows new visual feasts such as traditional Chinese colors, traditional patterns, architectural construction, calligraphy and painting, ceramic weaving and dyeing, embroidery and paper-cutting, and puppet shows.

At the scene, there is an AIGC intangible cultural heritage creation wall. Generative Artificial Intelligence (AIGC) is an important symbol of the era of artificial intelligence 1.0 entering the era of 2.0, using AIGC technology as a means to create works of art with Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage aesthetics as the theme and inspiration, which is the most popular trend at present. The beautiful pictures of people, landscapes, buildings, flowers and birds created through AIGC tools show a keen sense of cutting-edge technology, a love for Chinese culture, and a digital intelligence to inherit the beauty of national style.

Not only that, the exhibition also highlights "inheritance", with a special intangible cultural heritage workshop and an intangible cultural heritage stage, where the audience can not only enjoy the works presented by intangible cultural heritage masters and young inheritors, but also have the opportunity to appreciate the ingenuity, learn skills, inherit the cultural context, and use artificial intelligence AIGC to draw and spread Chinese classic aesthetics and culture with each other. There are also many ceremonial experiences such as ordering tea in the Song Dynasty, hairpin flowers in Hanfu, listening to the qin, and intangible cultural heritage skills such as shadow puppetry, cloisonné enamel, and velvet flowers, which will also be combined with the wonderful exhibition content, so that the audience can start an immersive national tide tour and set off a boom in Shanghai's digital inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in the spring and summer of 2024.
