1. Bowers & Wilkins audio system of G70
It's a topic that few people talk about, but as a large sedan, it's a pretty important fit.
The petrol version of the G70 7 Series comes standard with Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, which is standard from the 735 to 740, except for the M760Le, which comes standard with a diamond surround 4D sound system.
And 740 Premium can also be equipped with an optional 4D audio system, the price is 55700 yuan.
At a time when Harman Kardon audio has become standard for many BMW models, only the standard Bowers & Wilkins can meet the flagship positioning of the 7 Series today.
The Bowers & Wilkins set that comes standard with the 7 Series has a good look, and the layout is quite different from the previous generation G12 7 Series.
First of all, there is a large horn outlet above the dashboard (below)
The second is the two large-area metal horn masks inside the doors, which are very good in texture. The bottom speaker is a one-piece plastic panel, which may be used to harmonize with the material of the lower part of the door. (Below)
The rear door side horn is also a metal mesh panel, and the rear window horn is a black uniform mask (like the lower horn unit on the driver's door side).
The adjustment of the power amplifier is the same as before, it can be adjusted in the iDrive, and the sound effect settings mainly include: Logic7 options (including surround intensity selection), treble, bass, left and right balance, front and rear balance, and equalizer settings.
Personal summary: First of all, the options of Logic7 can improve the sound effect in the simplest and most intuitive way, and this is a must-choose. Secondly, the fine-tuning depends on the type of song of each person and the sound source effect of the audio file. My listening range is generally based on the electronic music Trance style, plus irregular radio and Chinese lossless settings, so after various adjustments and attempts, it has been summarized into the current setting.

2. Summary of G70 issues (in order of discovery time)
Resolved Symptom:
Symptom 1 (Solved): The right side of the wiper spray is faulty and cannot be sprayed normally, resulting in the right side of the glass not being cleaned when needed.
Time of discovery: After picking up the car in December 2022
Solution: I went to the Shangde Baojun BMW 4S store where I picked up the car together with the audio problem of problem 2, but I didn't find the problem. Later, I passed by Huibao Store on Songyuan Road near my home, and I went to ask the technician to take a look at the problem, but after inspection, I found that the two link heads that supplied the wiper water circuit were not linked, resulting in the inability to supply water to the wipers. Once you pick it up, everything works fine. This estimate is that the PDI of the 4S shop did not do a good job, and such an obvious problem was not found.
Fault symptom 2 (solved): The sound of the speaker is often broken and broken. When playing the audio source of the vehicle's USB and mobile phone, there will be intervals of sound interruptions (similar to the situation of bad signal), and it is the same as trying multiple USB flash drives and mobile phone connections.
Time of discovery: After picking up the car in December 2022
Solution: After upgrading to 8.5, it has not happened for the time being.
Symptom 3 (Solved): Several times when the vehicle's ambient light changes to the ivory base color when it is started (the cause is unknown)
Time of discovery: After picking up the car in December 2022
Solution: After upgrading the system on May 8, it was not found for the time being, and continued to observe.
Fault symptom 4 (solved): Before the steering wheel turns to the bottom in the direction (to the left and right), there will be a slight "clucking" noise, which is fixed in one part, and the car feels in the direction of the front axle. You can feel it when you are in the same direction, or when you are reversing slowly, or when you are moving forward and turning sharply.
Discovered: April 2023 (updated February 2024)
Solution: After the investigation of the 4S store, two front wheel levers were replaced (as shown in the work order below).
Symptom 5 (Solved): After a speed of more than 100 km/h, an unknown resonance is felt in the front wheels, and this vibration can be felt through the feedback from the steering wheel. Different high-speed roads have been tried, and the basic situation is the same.
Discovered: April 2023
Solution: It seems that after replacing the tie rod in fault 5 above, this problem is temporarily gone, continue to observe.
Pending and Handling Failures:
Fault phenomenon 6 (3/25 sent to the 4S shop for processing): there is an abnormal sound inside the back of the driver's seat, and there is a "squeak" friction sound inside when accelerating, or when the upper half of the body moves in the seat.
Discovered: April 2023
Solution: The squeak in the driver's position still exists and needs to be post-processed.
