This year, the government work report put forward the expected development goal of "grain output of more than 1.3 trillion catties". As a major agricultural city, Ningxiang can only better play the "new chess game" of agricultural development by constantly innovating service models, reducing production costs, and improving grain support policies, so that farmers can eat "reassurance".
In recent years, Ningxiang has given full play to the exemplary role of the party organization as a fighting fortress and the vanguard of party members, actively explored the agricultural development model of "party building + service", focused on the agricultural season, focused on the needs of farmers, and promoted the focus of service to the grassroots level. Relying on local resources such as "new farmers", "Tian Xiucai" and "soil experts", we have set up a volunteer service team of party members to help farmers, regularly invite agricultural experts to go to villages and households and go deep into the fields to carry out on-the-spot guidance, provide technical services such as agricultural planting and pest control in a timely manner, implement various policies to benefit farmers, and strive to find a new development path of "party building + agriculture".
In order to stabilize the grain area and ensure food security, at present, Huaminglou Town, located in the southeast of Ningxiang, is full of farming and planting, project construction, and perfect infrastructure, and the natural scenery of the local mountains and rivers, spring flowers and water mist are integrated, presenting a very eye-catching, vigorous and fiery spring ploughing map. Jinghuapu Township closely focuses on key tasks such as early deployment, steady advancement, and wide publicity, and makes every effort to fight the "tough battle" of early rice production, so that spring plowing and preparation can run out of "acceleration", and play the "agricultural busy song" of spring plowing and ploughing. The agricultural technicians of Zifu Town actively went to the village to guide the early rice seedling raising, involving more than 100 person-times, effectively improving the comprehensive grain production capacity of large grain growers. In 2024, Gray Tang Town will further promote the increase of double cropping rice planting area, further increase the construction of cultivated land infrastructure, further explore the establishment of commercial grain bases and brands, and ensure that the task of centralized seedling raising of early rice is 42,300 mu and the task of double cropping rice is 54,000 mu.

In order to run out of the "acceleration" of grain development, Ningxiang closely follows the main theme of the times, gives full play to the power of science and technology, strengthens the construction of agricultural scientific research talents, improves the level of innovation and application of food science and technology, realizes the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and modern agriculture, and truly implements the "grain storage on the ground and grain storage in technology". In 2023, a total of about 75,000 mu of early, noon and late rice planting area will be completed in Daolin Town, with an output of 37,800 tons, and 6,962 mu of dry grain planting area. Fifteen agricultural machinery cooperatives have been further cultivated, and one new rice factory seedling raising center has been built. Successfully held the on-site demonstration meeting of machine insertion and throwing in Daolin Town, and encouraged and supported various grain subjects to add 7 new rice transplanters, 5 unmanned aerial vehicles and 3 dryers, helping the town's large grain growers to significantly improve their agricultural machinery equipment and operation technology.
This is a microcosm of Ningxiang's grain production last year. It is estimated that in 2024, the planting area of double-cropping rice will be doubled, the number of large households and planting scale will further increase, and the continuous increase and renewal of agricultural machinery will play an important role in improving the quality and efficiency of grain production and high-quality development.
