[2024 Beijing International Auto Show] In the pre-opening photo shoot before the opening of the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the front reporting team of the Chedi captured the new Ford Mustang convertible version, which will be officially released on April 25, which is also the first time that Ford has officially introduced the Mustang convertible version to the Chinese market.
The all-new Ford Mustang Coupé Performance Edition and Convertible Sport Edition
On the outside, the all-new Ford Mustang Coupé Performance and Convertible Sport will feature the GT Exterior Package, which gives it a sportier look and more performance than the regular model.
The new Ford Mustang has a more angular shape, with low lines running across the front to emphasise the overall visual width, and the grille shape echoes the style of the original Ford Mustang in the 60s. The three-pillar LED light cluster inherits the classic headlight design of the Mustang series.
The roofline has been further optimised, allowing drivers to get in and out of the car without having to take off their helmets while driving on the track. Notably, the GT exterior package features a larger, more aggressive grille designed to enhance the air intake while emphasizing its enhanced dynamics. New air intakes have been added to the bonnet and the front wing design has been optimized.
The Mustang Convertible has a fully lined insulated multi-layer fabric roof that can be opened and closed at the touch of a button, allowing it to open and close at speeds below 5 km/h.
In terms of colours, the all-new Mustang Convertible Sport is available in three colours: Phantom Red, Skimming Blue, and Sunburst Yellow. In terms of interior color matching, the new Ford Mustang Coupe Performance Edition is available in Eclipse Black, and the new Ford Mustang Convertible Sport Edition is available in sub-zero gray and rum red.
The all-new Mustang features a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster developed using the Unreal Engine 3D platform, which is commonly used in modern gaming games, and the dashboard's customization features allow users to choose their favorite animation design and a new driving mode display. In addition, the mid-size version of the new Ford Mustang Coupé Performance and Convertible Sport variants are upgraded with a B&O audio system as standard.
In terms of power, the all-new Ford Mustang Coupé Performance and Convertible Sport are both equipped with a fourth-generation 2.3T EcoBoost turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 220 kW and a peak torque of 453 Nm, and the drivetrain is mated to a Ford SelectShift 10-speed automatic manual transmission. The vehicle offers six driving modes of Standard, Sport, Slippery, Straight Acceleration, Track, and Custom, as well as 5 dashboard themes, 4 suspension/exhaust modes, and 3 steering modes depending on your needs.
