On May 2, 2024, the Xiaguan Scenic Landscape Painting Exhibition will be held at the Puyue Bookstore in the Creative Park, a creative park with a history of more than 130 years, at No. 346 Zhongshan North Road, Nanjing.
On the opening day of the exhibition, Mr. Yu Ming, honorary president of the Nanjing Ancient Capital Society, gave a lecture on "The Beginning and End of the Construction of Nanjing Yuejiang Tower".
Mr. Yu Ming was the head of Xiaguan District and the secretary of the district party committee, and he found in the classics that Emperor Hongwu and Song Lian, the "head of the founding ministers", both wrote "The Story of Yuejiang Tower", and it turned out that Zhu Yuanzhang planned to build a Yuejiang Tower on the Lion Rock, but it was not realized for various reasons.
More than 600 years later, at the suggestion of Mr. Yu Ming, the reconstruction of Yuejiang Tower was put on the agenda. After the Yuejiang Building reconstruction project was approved and approved, Yu Ming led the team members to raise 78 million yuan in various ways, which lasted more than two years, and in August 2001, Yuejiang Tower was finally born on the Lion Rock.
Looking down on the Yangtze River rolling east, Yuejiang Tower is one of the most dazzling cultural landmarks in the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River.
Yuejiang Building first has literary works, and then there are famous buildings, and her completion interprets the vivid relationship between the two. Yuejianglou has become one of the most famous tourist attractions in Nanjing, driving the development of Nanjing's tourism economy.
While listening to the lecture, the audience can also enjoy the Xiaguan Scenic Scenery Chinese Painting Exhibition by 8 painters, including Gao Yibin, Zhang Xiaodong, Xu Qiang, Wang Zhen, Luo Minglan, Xia Yue, Mo Xiangming and Jiang Xingyi.
The works of this exhibition were carefully created by seven members of the Jiangsu Landscape Painting Research Association after making a special trip to various scenic spots in Xiaguan for many times to sketch, which well demonstrated the style of the landmark of Xiaguan of the Yangtze River culture.
